Quick Facts About The Spread Eagle

in advance as it can get busy, especially on weekends. The pub offers a range of food options, including burgers and chips, Sunday roasts, and a carvery. The prices are fairly cheap, with the Sunday roast being a good value for money.
One of the strengths of The Spread Eagle is its beautiful meal presentation. Many customers have mentioned how their meals looked appealing and appetizing. The food is also described as tasty, especially the gravy that adds a lot of flavor to the meals. The cozy atmosphere of the pub is another strength, with the decor and friendly staff creating a welcoming environment for customers. The staff is praised for being friendly and welcoming, making the overall dining experience enjoyable.
On the other hand, one of the weaknesses of The Spread Eagle is the inconsistency in service. Some customers have complained about inexperienced and chaotic staff, leading to slow service and mistakes in their orders. This inconsistency can somewhat detract from the overall dining experience and be frustrating for customers. Additionally, one customer mentioned that their Sunday lunch experience was not as expected, with dry beef and meals that had been left waiting under warming areas. This suggests a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen and highlights the importance of ensuring meals are prepared and served promptly.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer is the size of the carvery. While the food is described as delicious, the portions are perceived to be on the smaller side. This may not be an issue for everyone, but for those who prefer larger portions, it can be a disappointment.
Overall, the strengths of The Spread Eagle include its beautiful meal presentation, cozy atmosphere, and friendly staff. The food is generally described as tasty, with the Sunday roast being a good value for money. However, the weaknesses of the pub lie in its inconsistent service, inexperienced staff, and smaller portion sizes. These factors can detract from the overall dining experience and leave some customers feeling disappointed. To mitigate these weaknesses, the pub could focus on training and supporting their staff to ensure a more consistent and efficient service. They could also consider offering larger portion sizes or providing options for customers who prefer bigger meals.

Beautiful meal and nice cozy atmosphere. Staff were also welcoming
Had the special which was burgers and chips. It was decent and fairly cheap at about £9. The pub has a nice feel and atmosphere ????
A great character pub, but I have to say that our Sunday lunch experience was a bit of a shambles due to chaotic and inexperienced staff. The food was slow to arrive and although tasty, mainly saved by the very good gravy, the meals had obviously been left waiting under the warming area as the beef was dry around the edges.
Shame as we were looking forward to the meal as it has been recommended.
Always enjoy coming here, a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and the food is absolutely amazing, tried a Burger here once, was absolutely fantastic. And was here yesterday and had a Sunday dinner before watching the England World Cup game there, was amazing food. Would absolutely recommend :D
I had heard good things about their Sunday dinners. I wasn't able to find a way to book and hoped for the best. Arrived at 1pm, and we were seated immediately. The order was taken promptly, and food arrived very quickly. 2 had beef, and 1 had lamb. There was a great selection of vegetables to share (cabbage, peas, green beans), and the plate had mashed potato, mashed swede, roast carrot, roast potatoes and a big squishy yorkie. We all thought the meats were okay (lamb a bit bland and you can't beat featherblade if you can get it). Overall, it was a great experience and value for money.
Lush pub. Had a gorgeous carvery but was just a little too small. I like a lot of mash and more than two roasters. Though small every part was very great. But I'm a heathen who likes Sunday dinner so big I need a nap afterwards.
Lovely meal, great decor and lovely staff. The menu offers a choice for everyone!
A fantastic put to go to for food and/or drinks.
Very friendly staff with a welcoming atmosphere.
There is seating indoors and outdoors, a separate restaurant to the bar area and a car park.
