We decided to try this place and it surely did t disappoint! The atmosphere was very warm, and so were the people. We ordered the beef and lamb gyro platter and the grilled chicken platter and both were excellent. The salad that came with each dish was huge, with a large chunk of feta cheese each, kalamata olives, two stuffed grape leaves, and a delicious dressing. I have to say the salads were a meal in themselves. The chicken was well seasoned and tender, and so was the gyro, and there was plenty of both. The rice was delicious, I love rice and this was probably the best rice I’ve had in a long time. Everything was delicious and made from scratch by the owner George and his wife. George also gifted us a container of homemade rice pudding and a piece of ravani, a popular Greek desert We didn’t try these yet, too stuffed from the delicious meal, but I’m looking forward to try them tomorrow. Great experience, both my wife and I loved and highly recommend The Greek to anyone who loves Greek food, and we can’t wait to go back. I think we’ll try pastitsio and spanakopita next time, maybe even a pizza made in that beautiful fire oven! And last but not least, I want to mention our wonderful server who also happens to be the owner’s son, and a very polite and friendly young man. If you’re into good food and a family atmosphere you must try this little gem!
This place is amazing. The Village Salad is one of the best things I’ve ever had, and the gyros are also fantastic. The family that runs this restaurant is kind, and they make sure your meal is perfect. 10/10
I had the best authentic Greek food in forever. My favorite has always been a chicken gyro with French fries and they did not disappoint! It was absolutely delicious. I have to go back at some point and order it again. Amazing!!
This is a wonderful new place next to la zingara that sells pizza on Sundays, but authentic real Greek food every day (closed Mondays). Delicious and amazing! Perfectly clean, very traditional food like gyros and hummus and pita, feta, olives, rice pudding! Real good high end food and reasonably priced too! Try it you will be happy.
Love Greek food? You will LOVE it here! Food was fantastic & fresh! My husband and I shared a lamb/beef gyro, salad, and spinach pie. The pita bread is delicious and addicting. The owner is so kind and welcoming! The vibe is very cute and makes you feel like you’re in Greece. Highly recommend!!!
I recently moved from Denver Colorado and have been in search for a delicious lamb gyro as this is something I often desire. I found this quaint place in Bethel and Mom and I decided to take the quick ride up Sugar St. To,”The Greek”. The gentleman who helped me was very curious and kind and even was helpful with my questions about the homeland.
The lamb gyro was amazing. One of the best I have ever had. A perfect blend of marinaded lamb and flavors explodes in the mouth with a wonderful tzatziki sauce Highly recommended. I will be back!!!!
The Greek is a wonderful, small boutique Greek restaurant located in the historic area of Bethel CT. George, the owner, is always there with a big smile and happy to recommend his fabulous homemade, authentic dishes tailored to your tastes. Everything is incredibly fresh, delicious and imported from Greece. The portions are substantial, so bring your appetite! Highly recommended!
Been looking for a new pizza shop in Bethel, ever since Famous Pizza changed the recipe and their pizza is not as good anymore. Well folks here it is. They just opened, so the sign isn't up yet and the menu isn't really available, but we tried two pies and they are the best around! Equivalent to going to New Haven our opinion!!
The hot pepper herb garlic chicken pizza was fantastic and my wife loved her Supreme!
