Have eaten here semi-regularly since we moved to the area a few years ago. Usually serves as a preferred alt to Katz Deli down the street.
Not sure what's going on but recently things have been slipping. We recently got sick from what we suspect was the goat cheese being left out. We called to warn them so nobody else got sick and was told "nobody else has complained" and hung up on.
Long day at work, I order us some food, first bite in and find the paper still in the cheese slices. Not something that will make us ill but was annoying to have to deconstruct then rebuild a $17 sandwich to remove paper.
This is something I would normally just call and give a heads up about (likely training a new worker or someone just tired) but based on the last experience I suppose I just need a quick yell into the void.
I do recognize this is totally a first world problem.

I went into the Brown Bag Deli yesterday to order a sandwich and was a bit overwhelmed by the menu as I am a picky eater. Once I zoned in on the Village Addiction sandwich, I knew I’d found my place. There’s something for everyone on the menu and the price is just right compared to other places. When I ordered my sandwich, I asked if I could get it as a wrap and they said of course, very accommodating. I also wanted to add bacon and they thought that was a wonderful idea. Everyone was very nice and then I noticed the case of side food items. I’m a sucker for deviled eggs and theirs did not disappoint! The spinach pasta salad was also amazing. I would recommend this little deli to everyone. The space is small, but it is clean and the atmosphere is perfect! And you can tell all the side dishes are homemade. Bonus points!
Love this neighborhood gem! A favorite lunch spot year round, Brown Bag Deli really shines in the warmer months when you can eat outside at one of their patio tables or take your Village Addiction over to Schiller Park for a picnic. All their sandwiches are delicious and the portions are generous. Don't miss out on some of the excellent salads in their cold case as well. The team behind the counter is friendly and quick to help with a suggestion.
Quick service for how busy it was. Although it is pricey, the food was very good and portions were large. Will be my new go-to sandwich shop when I’m in the area.
Amazing sandwiches and location! Partner and I got the Spice of Life and the Village Addiction. Both were fantastic and the food came out pretty quick despite a small line. Last time we were here around lunch time the line was out the door so we skipped, but going at 4pm was quick. Highly recommend if you’re in the German Village area. Get a sandwich and go sit at Schiller Park!
Best sandwiches in Columbus! I'm especially a huge fan of all the fresh sides. The staff is always busy, but friendly and fast. The Brown Bag is worth it every time.

I literally eat here 3x a week and just realized I’ve never left a review???? Fire sandwiches, fire sides, fire soups. Can’t stop won’t stop. If brown bag has no fans then I’m dead.
This is a very nice quaint place to grab a sandwich, side, & drink to enjoy. The sandwich was heated & the flavor was pleasant to the taste. They have a rewards card to earn a free sandwich. Definitely recommend you to go & eat here.
