Cutest spot in Sarasota for breakfast and came highly recommended. We had breakfast in the courtyard. Really cool vibe and fans everywhere to keep us cool in the heat. We ordered the special French toast, which was a sampler of three varieties. It was excellent. Also ordered the lemon lavender ricotta pancakes. The ricotta felt and tasted like lemon curd, and was very overpowering and sweet. The mixture was between each of the three pancakes and also lumped on top - way too much and tasted like fake sugar. Also ordered grits with cheese. There was about an inch of melted cheese on top of the grits. The grits were actually good when we finally could get to them through the mountains of cheese. Just OK. Took 45 minutes for our food to come out and the place was not at all at capacity. Overall reading is reflective of the service and description of the lemon pancakes, which felt very inaccurate.
The owner greeted us this beautiful day excited @ the specials she created. This is one reason why we revisited The Breakfast House on our mini vacation. We sat outside, which was covered with fans to ensure comfort. The chocolate chip pancakes were delectable sans any syrup or butter!!! Love them. And the fruit cup was loaded with 6 ! types of fruit. Thanks to Lindsey for quick, attentive service. Love this place and will be back on our next time in town.
I went on Valentine's Day with 4 other friends for lunch. They were crowded but the service was good. We had pancakes and an egg omelette breakfast. The food came out hot and fresh. The atmosphere was perfect. We totally enjoyed ourselves talking & enjoying the time together. The owner of the establishment came over and spoke with us. She was sweet & enjoyable to talk to. This is a perfect place to take a first date for a romantic breakfast brunch for a luncheon. It's a great Sarasota secret bound to be a hit once the word is out. Try it, you won't regret it!!!

Everything we had was just ok - serving sizes are not up to par with other places at all. French toast made with regular store bought bread. Waffles look like small eggo and dry. Potatoes were over cooked. Worst of all was definitely the lack of attentive service - two services for the whole place on a Saturday is terrible everyone is not happy with that. Minimally staffing makes more tips for each server but is not well serving each table and leaving with a good experience. Would not return
Holy Kahlúa ……first time here….this place will ruin all other experiences because none will even come close to this. I’m saving the best for last….but FIRST - when your staff loves what they do, it’s like next level amazing. We had Lindsey as a server. Got the Coconut Nut Pancakes ???? …..with real maple syrup ????????????????????. We got a Mango Mimosa, Extra Spicy Bloody Mary….and the ultimate……. Espresso crème brûlée baked French toast with a Kahlúa whipped cream on top
Grumpy unwelcoming staff. Food was bad and poorly presented. Fruit and cheese in the salad tasted like it has been left out for a while. Greasy clumps of cheap smoked Gouda. It wasn't even cheap. Filthy WINDOWS... Seriously... CLEAN YOUR WINDOWS!!

BKH special okey was really good, and the burrito was also.
Atmosphere was really nice outside.
My bread came out cold, potatoes weren't great, and the service took longer than expected with a minimal crowd, but the overall experience was definitely worth the pancakes.
