Baby I grew up in the Field and the blue store has always been apart of my childhood and adulthood. I live in Texas now but when I’m back home I do not come back to Texas without stopping at the blue store for my chicken, potato logs , turkey wings and pig tails!!! If you’re in BR and you don’t stop here you’re crazy !
I ordered at 5:56pm, I kept seeing people get orders that placed orders after me. I asked counter staff how are you all calling numbers because I heard them call 38 when my number was 29 , and I was told they had to drop more chicken which really didn't answer my question. After realizing I had been in there almost 30mins and seeing the third 25 piece being filled over my 12 piece, I demanded the counter staff to refund me or give me my food and handed my receipt to the cashier. Cashier asked why I did not been say something. My response was 15 mins ago, I did say something when I asked how are y'all calling numbers. Overall, I did not receive my food until 6:29pm They were on number 43 when I retrieved my food. Apparently one of the servers, who was leaving the counter after I arrived threw away my ticket without passing to the kitchen.
The people were absolutely great. We ordered a lot and it took a while, but not too long. The wings were super fresh as well as the fried livers. I would say the wings were good, but not as good as we has expected. All in all it was worth the trip????. We're happy
I truly am giving the three stars because yesterday morning when I ordered chicken wings and wanted to order shrimp fried rice, the ladies were very nice enough to let me know that the shrimp did not smell pleasing to them so they did not want me to order and be upset about spoil food and wasting my time and money. I appreciate that because many other places will sale you something just to make money, I thank God that saved me from ever wanting to go against what the workers said. They were very nice, I even tipped the lady at the front desk. I pray the owner gets it together and throw away the spoil food before really causing harm to someone. I did get the wings and they were great, my son enjoyed them. This location was better than the other locations I’ve been to.
The food at the Blue Store is always good. Made hot and fresh, spiced just right, bigger chicken then their competition, and love the shrimp fried and Cajun rice dishes. Their cracklins are tasty, too. Prices are good and not made to break the bank, and they're willing to work it out to accommodate what you're asking for if it's not directly on the menu. I go as often as I can and will keep going back.
What can I say, this place has some good wings! I first tried their wings (from location by Southern University) during an office luncheon and was pleasantly surprised. Since then I've visited their location in Baker a few times and have not been disappointed. I usually get a 25 piece for me and my wife to eat and have some left for later. For 20.00 you can't beat it. I've spent more for me and her to eat at other places and not be as satisfied as we are when we leave here. They offer other things as well, but I can't get away from their wings to give them a try! Go check them out, they have multiple locations.
Some of the best chicken you will ever eat....... no need for sauce! I'm from the NW, and I visit family in Louisiana every year. When I'm in baton rouge, blue store is a staple for delicious chicken/ potato logs. The prices are extremely fair, and the people that work there are super friendly
