This place **WAS** FIRST CLASS!! Update...I had to stop getting my hair cut here because they have some new rule about next in line goes to the next open chair. I am too old to use a different barber over and over. It's really disappointing because it took me forever to find a new barber after moving to Henderson, and Macy is exceptional, but now I can no longer wait for her, so I'm no longer a customer. I didn't use the shop, I went there for my barber, and now that is no longer an option...so....Moving on
I was on my way to Kilgore and realized I needed a beard trim. I called to make an appointment and found out they do walk-ins. Julia was my stylist and knew exactly how I wanted my beard shape. Which isn’t easy given it’s a little on the curly side. And for once, I wasn’t let down. So I know I’ll be back and will ask for her or Macy. I’ve included some before and after pictures to show their great work.
after going back to show the lady the multiple issues with hair cut - she said oh I can fix it but how -you didn't have the knowledge to cut my hair properly the first time how can you fix it - it takes someone with more knowledge then she has to fix it negative star if the review had it - don't go
Compared to other stylists and barbers I've used, the owners and staff here know what they're doing and have never gotten my semi-complex requests for head or beard hair cuts/alterations wrong. Very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Price is a bit high ($18 for just a haircut) but I suppose the argument could made that you're getting what you pay for: A damn good haircut.
This is the go to place for boys/mens haircuts. Unfortunately they don't do women's hair, but they make my boys (ages 14 and 17) look sharp and nice every time.
Been two different times an f had two different people cut my hair. Neither one of them can do a fade.
The first one was almost good except hair line ended up higher on one side. But the second time worst haircut of my life. I had to shave my hair off there was no saving it.
I’ve gotten my hair cut at The Barber Shop for years. Josh and Don are always friendly, and they know the cut that I prefer. They are usually busy on Saturday morning, so I try to wait until a weekday to stop by. Prices are reasonable.
It seems to me the people currently working there (may of 2021) were simply handed their certificates instead of proving to earn them. I asked for a simple drop fade, even showing them a picture of how the fade is supposed to look like, and a little trim on top because I like my hair length on top to be enough for me to style but that wasn’t the case at all. I told the barber not to go too high on the sides and that’s exactly what they did. The trim on top was a lot shorter than what I had asked for, just a little longer than an inch which is unacceptable. Overall great service just horrible cuts. I also noticed the man who usually works the middle stations asking the woman to the right of him questions about a haircut, I mean if you have a barber certificate/license I would expect you to know what you’re doing. Perhaps this is the last time getting a cut there but it’s a shame since I’ve been going there for the past 4/5 years and the cuts have just recently gotten bad.
