Best WLM Reviews

Stumbled on this place while on the road. Another beachside restaurant with an amazing dining view. We sat outside to enjoy environment, but our menus and drinks and napkins were blowing everywhere so that is a thing to think about before sitting outside. The staff were extremely nice and attentive. They have an extensive seafood menu, with many ways to prepare each dish. The portions are large and very heavy, especially the fried dishes, but all very good. They offer tasty tartar sauce in self serve bottles, which most people probably don’t care about but I find a little unsanitary unless they clean them between parties. Great seafood option in the area.
This was our first restaurant pick of our first time vacationing in Fort Walton near Destin. Eating out on the beach is something we’d not done before, so that was really fun. We enjoyed the firecracker shrimp tacos and bronzed fish tacos, with a slice of shared key lime pie for dessert. The seasoning on the fish and shrimp was incredible and the firecracker sauce was very tasty. The side of rice pilaf I chose was fantastic and the coleslaw my husband ordered was good (heavily mayo-based). The pie was a more subtle key lime and almost more of a cheesecake, which is always a delight as compared to an overly tart lime or artificially-flavored pie. The sweet tea was a very dark brew, which I loved.
It was more pricey to eat here than we were expecting, about $23/plate, and the slice of pie was $8, but the meal was yummy and the atmosphere and location was a treat. Our waitress was very attentive as well; so all in all, we’re glad we came.
The service was excellent! We had a great experience, though be prepared to get sweaty if you eat inside the building in an area without a breeze. The grilled fish was slightly charred with an overpowering grilled/burned flavor, so my daughter didn’t eat much of her kids meal. This was our third visit in 5 years. Overall, it was good. We plan to visit again in a few years.
For a fairly busy Saturday, we were sat promptly and quickly, our server Angie was top-notch, super friendly, focused and professional. Made sure we had everything we needed and always had a great smile. The food came in a quick and reasonable time and was incredibly delicious. Great job from the kitchen, staff and server! All around great service and I'll always give my vote to this place! One of the best dining experiences I've had in a very long time.
The atmosphere was busy but still a great time for family. We had no reservations and sat 7 people down with no wait. I got the seafood nachos and oysters.
Seafood Nachos7/10
- The toppings were good but would have scored higher if spread out better. They went easy on the shrimp so that lowered the score some too.
Oysters 9/10
- They were so good but one of the six was chewy. Not sure how they only overcooked one of them but it dropped a point leaving it just shy of a perfect score.
Extra:
I solicited a bite of key lime pie and it was wonderful. I highly recommend ending you meal with a slice of it aligns with your tastebuds (10/10)
Words aren’t enough to describe how good this place is. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this gem! Starting with location, the restaurant is right on the beach so you get the sea-breeze and beautiful views. The food was DELICIOUS. We started with oysters - they were fresh and huge. For our main dish, We had the stuffed shrimp with lime rice and corn medley and the crab cakes w the twice baked potato. The crab stuffed shrimps are fantastic! The rice was very well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The crab cake dish was also delicious. We had a spicy mango margarita that definitely hit the spot - right amount of alcohol, right amount of spice. Just perfect. The service was fantastic too. They all went above and beyond - polite, welcoming, attentive. Our waitress Ashley was a pleasure to have and definitely made our evening more enjoyable. Definitely a must if you’re in Destin.
Okay….. first please stop the Hype, this restaurant is basic!!! The food is not great, the key lime pie is watery. The fish is small for $40.00 and the taste was bland! I don’t see why this place is packed all the time minus for the drinks. The Miami vice was the only Good thing I ordered and enjoyed down to the last sip, and it was supposedly alcoholic but I didn’t taste a hint of alcohol!! The customer service was the minimum. So please stop over hyping this place. Oh and the food comes out fast but notice that about all Destin’s restaurants. And the Firer shrimp appetizer was had too much sauce on it lost interest in eating it.
This place was awesome. My husband and I were in Destin visiting family at one of the condos nearby so we decided to try this place. The parking was easy, about a 15-20 minute wait to be seated. We were sat on the upstairs balcony area which I imagine is beautiful during the day time or full moon. We had Alex as our server and he was attentive, friendly, and made our experience really enjoyable. We got the firecracker shrimp appetizer, my husband got the snapper sandwich, and I got the crab legs with mashed potatoes. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious with very good portions sizes. I would just recommend bringing a sweater if you are to sit outside at night as the breeze from the ocean can be a bit chilly.
