Best WLM Reviews

Yesterday we experienced The Back Porch fir our first time. This is a casual sports bar restaurant with televisions playing sports throughout the dining room and bar. We ordered The Truck Stop Burger ($15) with bacon, grilled onion, fries on the burger and cheese with a side of French fries, Steak & Potatoes ($26) with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli and a Kids Meal ($10) with Mac n cheese, chocolate chip cookie, Tator tots and fruit.
The burger itself didn’t have much flavor but the bacon on it was super salty. The steak was ok, the mashed potatoes were really tasty, the Mac n cheese was tasty and plentiful.
The menu has quite a few offerings so there is probably something here for most people. Service was friendly and average.
We decided to give them a try, since we have seen the restaurant for a while every time we pass by. It sure was a good experience!
There is plenty of seating inside and we were greeted by nice hostesses whom sat us as we came in on a busy weekend afternoon. Our server greeted us a bit later and was nice, friendly, attentive and checked on us as well.
Our food was tasty, made to order, fresh and flavorful! We ordered the mahi tacos, regular sliders and the turkey sliders. Every thing was delish!
We will definitely be back and keep it as one of our go to's for the future!
Staff was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. I've never had a donut burger before but I'm a fan. Atmosphere was great for the playoffs! Thank you so much for the "special drinks" we asked the bartender to make, they were so good ????????
Worst manager I have ever seen at an establishment. On duty around 11:45am on June 1, 2024. Confronted us in a negative manner because we were not satisfied with wings and simply asked that they be removed and returned. I provided my friend with my wings because they tasted more like what she asked for. Explained that she was satisfied with these, and did not want hers.
When he came out, he was extremely rude, condescending and raised his tone at us in front of other customers. He was more interested in arguing and stated that we asked for him to come out. We explained that no one asked for him, to which he continued with his rude tone and stated “do you think I would have come out here if no one asked for me?” I say statement because I just know he couldn’t have been asking us such a ridiculous question. Especially one which made no logical sense.
Not very becoming of someone who pretended that their motive was to come out and help us. At some point after accusing us of being rude to his staff, he said he wanted to know what was wrong with the food.
He stated that he wanted to figure out how to train his staff at this point. NO SIR, you came out here trying to training your customers.
He appeared less interested in helping and more interested in telling us off. He said that he saw the food being made? Maybe your time is better spent on your computer watching training videos on how to manage an establish, which includes interactions with customers. I get better service at Waffle House. It appeared as if he had not been working in customer service for more than a week. Seems to be one of those situations where you lie on your resume and get the job.
Looking at the rest of the reviews on this page, it is extremely obvious that management would rather spend time responding negatively to a review than at a manager training program.
I had visited this establishment several times in the past, and had much better experiences when “staff” was all I had to deal with. Would also add that the experience with the waitress was fine, despite the food issue (my 5 wings originally being given to my friend with her salad - my friend receiving 6 of her wings in the wrong flavor - my husbands sandwich having sauce on it when he requested that it did not) . The visit only became disgraceful when the manager came out unsolicited. Would not return with even the thought of just knowing that someone so nasty is in the back working near my food.
Edited to add: there will be no witness statement from around us that we were rude or heard a loud or rude tone with the waitress. The only witness states from customers would come from their attention being drawn to the table after the manager came over. As a lawyer, I would like to give a few tips when “reviewing surveillance.” Pay attention to how no one looks at our table in surprise when we have any interaction with the waitress, but everyone’s attention focuses on the table when manager comes out and draws attention to it by making a scene and so loud that he could be heard. Although it did not appear that he was sincere, I did admit that he apologized at some point BETWEEN the accusations. The fact that it was in between the accusations and aggressive tone led me to the conclusion that this was indeed insincere.
First and foremost let’s talk about the tater tots at The Back Porch in Longwood. It’s a good thing they’ve got to go boxes because if not, I’d totally Napoleon Dynamite them. ???? They were the best tots I’ve ever had. The perfect amount of crispyness on the outside and soft potato on the inside. Get in my belly!
We stopped by mid afternoon cause we were on that side of town and it was apparent that they were the local spot for game watching. We were sat quickly and our server was friendly and helpful. The menu has a great variety ~ typical bar food so there was something for everyone. We enjoyed sliders, wings, club sandwich, chicken and waffle sandwich, and of course the tots. All delicious and even better with a beer in hand. We’ll definitely be back when we’re over that way!
We find ourselves returning to The Back Porch in Longwood time and again, and it’s easy to see why. This place checks all the boxes: scrumptious food, a warm, homelike atmosphere, and friendly, efficient service. Their loaded tots are a must-try—crispy, cheesy, and just downright delicious! This visit, we branched out to try the pot stickers, chicken & waffles, and shrimp tacos.
Each dish was a hit, perfectly cooked and flavored. The chicken & waffles paired sweet and savory in a way that was both satisfying and innovative, while the shrimp tacos were a delightful burst of freshness and spice. The Back Porch has become a favorite spot for its consistent quality and the welcoming vibe that greets us each time.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and an awesome time. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
This place appears to be known by locals, and I can see why. Its setting is very sports bar type, but with great food selection. I had the steak with grits, which was delicious and great drink selection. The location can be a little tricky while it is in the same plaza as Publix. It's on the other side, past Mulligan's. They do have a brunch menu, which I feel is perfect for when you want to avoid the crowds and overpriced food on Park Avenue in Winter Park, cause there are times you want to just seat on a porch with drinks and food peaceful.
Enjoyed our time with friends relaxing here. Food was good and our waitress was very attentive to keeping our drinks filled and making sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend.
