Great restaurant! I love steaks with a Hawaiian marinade like the one they offer. The Tomato Pie appetizer was cheesy and tasty.
SO Delicious!!!
Tonight my wife had the Beef Wellington and I had the Idaho Trout! We've eaten here dozens of times and the food is always great! The cornbread cooked in a skillet with fresh honey for an appetizer, and the banana cream pie got dessert!
We loved the atmosphere inside the restaurant, and the staff is very professional! We were seated within minutes which is nice compared to the wait in big towns like Tallahassee. The owner Tyler and his team are the best! There is a small brewery next store, and we took a walk around the town square which is just amazing! There is also a new area called Chason Park within walking distance that overlooks the beautiful Flint River!

Very friendly folks even to foreigners. I brought my Mexican buddies and I thought they were going to get struggle to communicate. But nope they were very professional, pleasant and patient! Amazing food portion and environment. Highly recommend!
We had an outstanding lunch at the American today. Based on reviews, we had the cornbread. It was unlike any I have had before and totally delicious! I had the Tomato Pie and it was good, but my husband’s Pork Ribeye was beyond fantastic. Lastly, the banana crème pie was the bomb.
The restaurant has a lovely ambiance as our server, Sarah was excellent. What more could you want? We liked it so much, we are going back tomorrow!
Tyler and his staff are awesome! If youre in bainbridge and looking for a great local restaurant, do not hesitate to go to The American!! We had the tomato pie, trout with gouda grits and the blackened salmon risotto. It will all knock your socks off!!
Wow, Do yourself a favor ASAP , Make a reservation & go experience a multitude of delishisness , We had ,for starters Skillet cornbread,& Heirloom tomato pie,with out a dought a must , Main, Floreintine Flounder & Chipoltie Ribeye , finished with keylime pie omg ALL beyond delish , Outstanding service provided by Dustin . Cant wait to go back 4 sure
One awesome burger... a perfect mix of brisket and short ribs topped with cheddar. Delicious!!! Love the American theme in the restaurant and the cute little seating areas. Everything was neat and clean to include the bathrooms. Service was excellent keep up the good work and we will see you again soon.
