Nice location to get Vietnamese products. Not only do they sell banh mi, but they also sell soy milk, pandan, and more. The atmosphere is a stuffy since it's a busy place. The tofu banh mi is nice, but inconsistent. They do put a unique sauce inside the banh mi, which is delicious.
I come here just for the banh mi sandwiches, but they also have other Vietnamese food here like buns, tofu, and desserts. The banh mis are really good and I would say probably one of the best in the CID. They are packed with veggies like cucumber, carrots, cilantro, and jalapenos that you can ask to omit. Also for the price it is not bad. There is parking but it can be tight if it’s busy. There’s also street parking as well.

Food was good. I recommend their tofu and soymilk. What keeps this business from getting a full 5 stars from me are the general attitude of employees here and not labeling their prices on other products. One of the employees working at the cash register was a guy tried to get into an attitude with other customers before us. Just glad to get it over with and get out of there before a fight starts.
My family member wanted to surprise me for my birthday with pandan coconut jelly from this place which I love so much. We go often and I’ve never encountered problems with their stuff. However when my family member bought it on Thursday and I ate it the next day Friday, there were tiny specks of mold already forming on the jelly, sadly I didn’t see it in time and other members of my family ate it too. We stored it how we usually do and we were just in shock. I called the place to tell them of the situation because if ours molded others may be experiencing it too and I started to question if the batch was old. I stated I did not want a refund and kept asking them questions on the product and all they could answer was I don’t know or what do you want. I understand there is a language barrier, they handed the phone to 3 other workers before I decided that I was not gonna receive the help I wanted. I’m just I guess very disappointed in them and now I can’t trust them. This is a do better be better experience that I hope they will take.
The most amazing fresh tofu in the northwest. An absolute game changer when cooking. So good you can eat it raw. And they’re such friendly wonderful folks running it.
Thanh Son Tofu and Bakery is a great spot for Vietnamese cuisine and dessert. The tofu is fresh made and the bean with coconut milk dessert was delicious. The decor is nice and the area is bit shady but in the day you will be fine.
Banh mi fail - big time . I have been going here since they've been opened and have never had a bad sandwich until today. We stopped in at around 3:00 on a Saturday. The sandwich counter looks like they were packing up. We ordered our sandwich. Waited for longer than necessary but that was fine. Then we changed our mind asked for our veggies to be separate and if possible in individual bags. The girl looked at me and said no "all together". Okay. The other girl who was helping her wanted to go get more cilantro because they were out but the girl said no. So we came home and opened up our bag of vegetables and there are no cilantro. Plus, the pickled relish wasn't even pickled. It was just plain shredded carrots and daikon. And then to add insult to injury, the sandwich itself barely had salt and pepper and no soy sauce. And I ordered the fish sandwich but there wasn't even any of the tomato sauce sauce in the sandwich. It's a good thing I have cilantro, properly pickled relish, and soy sauce at home. Over $6 for a DIY sandwich. Sheesh.
