I read the reviews and it's a love or hate proposition. For me, the food hit the mark! I have been to Thailand many times and love the culture, people and of course the food! I understand the comments about the service. My perspective might be unique?, I don't go to a restaurant to hurry through so a quiet place where I can read the news while waiting for a meal cooked to order suits me. I ordered the Thai sausage with sticky rice and a chili dipping sauce, it brought back wonderful memories and was authentic. The lady seemed shy, not rude and she brought me ice water with a smile. The place is beautiful and again brought back wonderful memories. Give it a try for some amazing food and relax if it takes a little time.
My dad and I went here a couple weeks ago and we won’t be going back. The service was TERRIBLE, she was not friendly at all. We were standing up at the front for a while before she came to seat us and waited a while to get our drinks. We ordered the tacos for an appetizer and most were completely empty. If anything was inside it was a dimed sized piece of chicken. When I received my chicken it was like a bowl of cereal…. and the chicken was so soggy from being submerged in the sauce. Disappointed with the experience.
If you chance this place, do not bring kids or have more than 4 people, & bring a nose plug.
Not sure what they're selling, but it doesn't seem to be food. Maybe they're independently wealthy & can afford to have a restaurant that doesn't actually serve food to customers?
If you go to Thai Paradise Cuisine in Pocatello, ID, even on a Saturday evening, it will likely be empty. Party of 5? Forget it, there are too many of you! "Call another time & try to make a reservation." Also, "Read the sign!" Upon entering there is a chalkboard sign saying they don't seat parties of 5 or more. You might think it would be no problem to seat 5 people in an empty restaurant; but you are mistaken.
Bringing kids? Forget it. There are multiple signs indicating kids aren't welcome & they WILL NOT seat you.
To top it off, the place smells really bad. It does not smell like Thai food at all. But why would it?
I wanted to love this place because I've had a yummy Tai tea to-go from here. However, I went in for dine in. My friend and I were not greeted with a warm welcome. We weren't offered drinks or given water until our food was being served. When I asked if our table could get condiments and another set of silverware the waitress said, "It's coming. Calm down." It was only us and another table so I'm unsure as to why the customer service was so awful.
This was my first time here. The food was really good. Their spice level is different from most American restaurants but I actually enjoyed it. The place looks nice but was empty when I was there except for one other person.
I went with a friend and he told me the lady was kind of cold. He was right about that. She never smiled. I asked her several questions but she never responded. She only spoke to us when she took our order. She never even refilled our water. I know she was the only one working but we were the only customers.
For me, I care about the food most. So I would go back. It was honestly good. But don't expect standard American customer service. The lady actually looks put out that you are in her restaurant.
This is by far the best Thai food in town, or any place else that I have been in the past when we lived in the Seattle area. Understand that it is authentic Thai food. Their heat ratings are different. I would normally get a three-star at a place back in Seattle, here it would be a half a star. And my wife who likes spicy food also gets half a half star. My daughter's boyfriend, who was the head chef at popular Cambodian restaurant in France, who really likes hot food, actually got a five star, and he really loved the food. He told me he never found a place in the US that ever made food hot enough for him. And he was very impressed. I love their Drunken Noodles, and my wife loves they're yellow curry. I also really like their fried rice, and spring rolls. Emily makes some really great food ! If she ever goes back to Thailand will have to follow her????????????
I will never walk into this restaurant again. Horrible experience!!! Today we were meeting a group of people at the restaurant. 5 adults and 2 kids. I was the first to arrive with my two little boys 8 and 5 years old. As we walked into a completely empty restaurant and stood at the front door to be seated I saw a women who I believe to be the owner on the other side of the counter. My boys stood quietly by me. I noticed her glaring at myself and my kids. She didn’t greet us, say hello or offer to seat us. At that point I said hello and asked her if we could be seated. She rudely asked me if I read the sign… Not knowing what she was talking about I walked up to the sign and began to read a letter that began with Dear Parents……. the sign went on about childrens behavior and how they were pretty much not welcome in her restaurant. She then with her rude mannerism’s threw 3 menus down on the table. At this point I told her that I was not interested in spending my hard earned money in a restaurant where you are mistreated for bringing in children. I mean come on this isn’t a five star restaurant!!!!!! I’ve never been treated so poorly……. The place was completely empty and now I can see why. I will never walk through those doors again and I will also be spreading the word about my experience tonight to everyone I know. Word travels in a small town!!!!!!
In my opinion, this is the best Thai food in the area! It is authentic, fresh, filled with flavor and always tastes great! The owner is amazing and is a hard worker, we have seen her doing everything by herself many times so if you see her running around and you're waiting a little longer for your meal just give her a little break, some props, and know your food is gonna be amazing. She is the only one who has been able to make something too hot for my husband to eat (I guess he shouldn't have challenged her haha.), but still listen to her and take her heat level warning seriously. Thanks for the great food every time we have been in there!
