Best WLM Reviews

This restaurant is amazing. I will eat here every time I’m in town. The service is a 10. The food was some of the best Mexican food I’ve had. We got the molcajete and it was so good. Eat here. You’ll be happy you did.
The "Tequila's Special" is really good. It's shrimp cooked over charcoal in a green tomatillo sauce with rice (no beans). I really liked this dish. It's mildly spicy, but not picante.
The carne asada dinner is really good. It's a thin steak that's marinated and cooked over charcoal. It came with rice and beans. The beans were really good, but the rice was average.
The house salsa was average. It was mostly diced tomatoes with some onions, but it wasn't spicy at all.
We ordered a jumbo margarita for $15. It tasted pretty good, but it was mostly ice.
The chicken enchilada in red sauce was a disappointment. It had no flavor, and the enchilada shell was very mushy.
Our waiter and the chips person were super attentive. The food came out quickly.
Ordered chicken fajitas, good not great. and chicken Chipotle-too much sauce but good grill flavor. Rice was bland. Beans were good. Salsa tasted like tomatoes thats it. Margaritas were really good. Service was okay. Had indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely not authentic food . Clean
We stopped in this city as a rest stop at a nearby hotel. The location was recommended by a local and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about the restaurant. The food, service, and overall experience were great. Everything, including the complimentary chips and salsa, tasted very fresh. We highly recommend this place to anyone driving through.
Went to Mesa Verda, so we decided to stop by Cortez for dinner, and man, what a great decision that we made to go here!!!
Tequila's is as authentic as it can be. Starting from the chips and salsa, with picked cabbage, the flavors and seasonings go so well together. We then split a combination fajitas (beef chicken and shrimp) and oh my it was beyond our expectations. The meat were well seasonings, but what I loved the most were the mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions. They were cooked the exact amount of time, with great flavor. I also loved how they had cheese on their friedbean. Margarita is on point as well. Hands down top 5 Mexican restaurants I ever had.
Also, a plus for the servers. Everyone was so nice and friendly. One of our neighbor table had a birthday, everyone sang and put cream on her face. It was so cute.
The food was good, but the portions were kinda small. The restaurant itself could use some updates and renovations. The staff is friendly. However, sometimes you have to wave them down to get their attention. Overall, I'd come here again.
Is it in Mesa Verde national Park, looking for a good place for dinner, saw the reviews on this place and decided to stop in. We hadn’t even sat down when our server brought us chips and salsa. They also gave us Mexican coleslaw with the chips, and it was excellent, never had anything like it before. Their serving sizes are super large, we all had food left in our plates. They literally had two people that circled the dining room refilling water, chips and salsa. Their service was incredible, there was lots of servers bustling around, and helping each other. Very kid friendly... all 3 kids loved it. Affordable prices too! Outstanding all the way around. Stop reading reviews and just come here!! ????
Food tasted like stale fish grease. We asked for 2 house margaritas on the rocks. Waiter says "Want to make those larges?" We said "sure". Then when we are done he slaps the bill down quickly and leaves. $17 each for 2 "House" margaritas! They were 99% ice too. It was crushed ice as well and packed tightly in the glass. Didnt seem like it had really any tequila either. They are crooks here. Any drinks costing that much should give you a strong buzz and you should be made aware that they are so highly over priced. Not worth it at all. It wasn't top shelf tequila it was "house". I've been to high end resteraunts and not paid this much for a single drink anywhere ever. They take full advantage of tourists that are just passing through. It's shameful.
