Great rolls (salmon : one of a kind )
Warm sake : delicious
The NIGIRIS were amazing : tried the salmon sake nigiri and the yellow take and tuna also amazing .
To finish we were given an orange , such a detail !
We have been here a few times over the last couple of years. Although the outside (and inside) would suggest that the restaurant has been condemned, the food and chefs have usually been decent.
Two days ago however, we ordered takeout. They asked us to give them “a good 25 minutes.” We arrived 35 minutes later and still waited for 20 minutes.
Upon arrival I literally Had to do a triple take to make sure I was entering the right restaurant. The exterior is so rundown and unkempt! The service was poor at best.
When we opened up the food, we were actually beyond disappointed - more like disgusted. We ordered calamari and received about 10 pieces of overcooked, freezer-burned, cold and oily scraps from the bottom of the bag. Our SMALL sushi rolls tasted old and extremely fishy. Our fried rice was hard (as if it had been in a warming tray all day.
$70 later, we were not only disappointed that any restaurant would let food like that walk out the door, but we also declared that we would never go back!
So unfortunate
A little dated, but my server Angi was awesome. The food was pretty good, with a nice big menu. I recommend happy hour, even the happy hour menu has a pretty big selection. All in all I had a pretty good experience, I'll definitely be going back when I'm in town next. Try the Vegas roll and pot stickers, they're delicious ????
Tenpenyaki is a great experience with fantastic chefs. Never once have I had anything that wasn't fantastic there. Pretty reasonable prices, but expect to spend money. I've never walked away from there with a bill short of 200 for 5-6 people. It is quality and fun, massive portions.
I don't like rating a place low. But..... Not crowded, took at least 5 minutes for the server to come by and another to get our drinks. We were sitting at the bar. The green mussels were GREAT. The sushi was wrapped so loosely that all the rice would just kinda slip out, the tuna looked like it was turning. The staff were drinking behind the bar, I mean what the heck.
Pleasant meal. Had the Alaska and Las Vegas rolls. Both were good not exceptional. The veggies dish was good but only mushrooms zucchini and onions stir fried. Service got everything done reasonably. Had to button up my coat to stay warm sitting next to the windows. The food was better than the building looks.
I came in tonight to celebrate my graduation. I had called two days before to make the reservation and everything because I wanted my family to experience this. We ordered, everything was good, and the cook was funny. Everything was great, but tell me why the second the cook was done cleaning the grill, our waiter (who is not at fault) told us that they had overbooked, so they needed us to leave. I love coming here, I do, but in what world do you ask the customers who spent $275 to leave?! I spoke to the manager, and the owner is the one calling the shots. He or she keeps overbooking, and then they keeps rushing people to leave. Doing this shows me one thing: all you care about is the money. that’s it. All you want is to see how many people you can get in, in order to have them spend a decent amount of money, and then tell the poor waiters who have to follow what you want: to kick people out. It’s frustrating and absolutely outrageous because these poor workers will not get a good tip due to this (we still left a good tip because we also know the restaurant industry), while you, the greedy owner, will get all the money from the dinner. Sorry, but this is not how you treat your customers at all. Shame on you.
My chicken was so overcooked, it was not edible. My chicken was the first thing on the grill and was the last thing taken off. I took one bite of the veggies and they were very bland. The egg the chef made for the fried rice was burned. I was not able to eat anything on my plate, sent it back and opted to make something later at home. We were offered 20% off of my entree only. This is our second time here, and our last. Very disappointing.
