I often travel back and forth from Baltimore to Waynesboro, PA. My engine overheated a few miles from Tengas Auto Repair. The owner, Charles, made me feel comfortable and at ease. Several days later I paid for the repairs and headed home only to have the engine overheat again. Charles immediately sent a tow truck at his expense and discovered a radiator installation mistake made by a previous mechanic. I highly recommend Tengas Auto Repair. Charles is personable and a skilled communicator.
Thanksgiving day and leaving for a 3 hour drive we discovered a very low tire. Called and drove right up and the tire was repaired in less than 30 min. Very friendly and I felt confident with the repair. A new customer
Mr. Tengas took very little time to diagnose the issues my vehicle was having which also was the need for a new radiator. He explained everything in detail & in terms I could understand. He was fair, thorough & trusting which in these days & times is unusual and very much appreciated. After I agreed to get the work done, he ordered the parts & expeditiously had my only means of transportation ready for me by the next day! I’ve finally found a mechanic who is knowledgeable & honest!!! Women this is the auto shop you should take your vehicle. Thank you again Mr. Tengas!!
Did a good job on my side mirror at a reasonable price. Quite friendly too. But took a long time to order the part after asking and reminding several times. Hope future dealings can be more positive in that regard.
Suberb service, had some grinding with my brakes with a fairly new Jetta 43,000 miles and my dealership blew it off as just wet pads, but after I left my brakes were Crisp and Sharp like New !!!
I have used Tenga's a couple times in the past. First experience, was fine, no issues. 2nd time was about 3 yrs ago. I had U-joints replaced on my truck. Within a month I noticed a noise from the driveshaft. Upon inspection I noticed that the front U-joint was missing 2 of the snap rings. Luckly, I had a couple extra and was able to put them in...problem solved. I didnt waste my time going back to Tengas to complain...but kept this in the back of my mind.Fast forward, 3 yrs (I only drive this truck maybe 4k miles a year) The rear u-joint failed. The driveshaft dropped out and off the rear diff. leaving me stranded. 3 yrs have passed by ,yes, but only 12K miles and a new U-joint fails!???...No way this was "wear and tear" . Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

This mechanic is the TRUTH!! A friend of mine referred me to go here and now I see why. He worked on my husbands sports car and installed a spoiler for him. He was true about the time the service will finish and he charged a reasonable price. I will come here again and I live in Gaithersburg MD.
