Cabin 101 has or had bed bugs. A doctor even confirmed our bites so be aware. I'm not the 1st person to experience this here and if they didn't do anything about it then I doubt they have by now. Check your bedding and don't bring anything into your home without properly cleaning it. The pool has been filthy the last few times I've been there. It's the same visibility as lake water. It was never that way before. At 1st I thought oh once or twice maybe it was just the specific day but it's gotten worse and worse. For 15 years I've loved this place but I'm so sad to say that it's just not the same place anymore. Such a shame.
Location and service good. Room looked good with remodel but bedding or furniture likely had mites or chiggers. All my family who slept in these beds got severe bites and itching shortly after. Our daughter slept in another room and didn’t get bites/itching. The hotel did give us partial refund for leaving early. Neighbors were rude with their loudness at 2 am. I’m a light sleeper and it woke me up at 2 am and I couldn’t go back to sleep until almost 5 am. Was an unpleasant experience.
This was such a pleasant experience! Relaxing hot springs, clean cabin, and friendly people!!
Rooms are outdated, but super clean and comfy. Great service and the soak is to die for.
Cabins were ok. We thought price was steep for condition of the cabins. The motel could certainly use an upgrade both exterior & interior. Our cabin had a leaking faucet, paint coming off the wall in the bathroom, permanently stained sheets and carpet. Beds and pillows were in good shape. Quaint place just needs some attention.
We love staying in the Tenderfoot Cabins when we visit White Sulphur Springs. We all had a fun and relaxing time. We make good use of the fridge while we're there but there's a microwave in the cabin as well. The larger Cabins have full kitchens / kitchenettes, stocked with plates, silverware, pots and pans, but our small cabin with two queen beds worked plenty well for us! Can't wait to go back...
We discovered the Tenderfoot Cabins while planning a weekend trip to White Sulphur Springs. Planning on short notice we found that the spa hotel was booked up, and are so pleased we ended up here.
We rented one of the larger new cabins with two queen beds and a small kitchen including a stove and oven. The floors are radiant heat which kept everything comfortable in February. Everything was new and clean, and rates are affordable. The hosts are friendly too, which is always a plus.
Note that this review is based on staying in one of the new cabins. There are some older cabins on the property that it appears they are gradually replacing, and I can't speak to their condition. Either way the $20 upgrade to the deluxe cabin was well worth it and we will be back. It's a great place for family trips, or as a home base for hunting or fishing.
There are too many disappointments with the end room in which we stayed. It is not a cabin (though we were thinking it was a cabin and were not told differently when booking).
The ppl who choose not to park their vehicle by their own cabin, are allowed to park outside the end room -per management; which turns the end room into a no privacy fish bowl.
If you keep the dark green curtains closed, there is not enough good daylight. The electric lights are dim.
The condition of the floors both wood and carpet are horrendous.
The bathroom was clean. (Everything was clean and fresh but not in good repair.)
The roll away bed is not in good repair and is dangerously unbalanced.
The Hotsprings wants you to reuse your towels; but does not give enough places to hang dry the towels after use.
The furnishings are old and in disrepair. The wall lamps are also old and in disrepair.
The comforter is open at a seem, exposing the polyester batting inside.
The mirror is missing frame -so nails and sharp glass edges are exposed.
The walls are dirty and are in disrepair.
When i asked about the parking rule, i shared that other ppl parking outside our windows feels like a big lack of security and privacy… i was told I could go someplace else to stay. (Mother’s Day weekend and every place is booked)
Madelein McCann means nothing at this place. They are not interested in your family privacy or security; the layout of the women’s locker room (no privacy entrance -full view into the locker and changing space from the door), proves this point.
This end room at the ‘cabins’ is not worth $130. we paid.
