Best WLM Reviews
Orders are placed at the counter, and food is brought to the table. The pastrami and chicken shawarma sandwiches were OK. The pepperoni pizza was better.
Food is prepared after ordering, so it has not been sitting around.
The atmosphere is like a convenience store that has been mostly emptied and a few tables added. There are a couple of tables on the front porch.
The restroom is functional though lacking in supplies and cleanliness.
After several friends insisted we try the hot pastrami sandwich at this hole-in-the-wall pizza place in downtown Templeton, we finally relented ... and I'm really glad we did.
This is not your usual hot pastrami on a french roll, it's served Gyro style on a folded pita (tasted homemade) with tzatziki (I think), lettuce and tomatoes. Okay, but why so good? The pita is fresh, soft and flavorful, not that dusty stuff you get at the store. The pastrami is lean and tender with crispy, caramelized edges and there's plenty of it. The lettuce is crisp, the sauce freshly made. Just a really good sandwich. And just as an aside - they make their falafels fresh and are really yummy too.
We arrived just after they opened. They seemed surprised to see us. No one else came in during the entire time we were there. The gyro meat was dry and tasted
as if it came frozen in a box, not made at the restaurant. I guess they mostly sell pizzas. Maybe the pizza is good. I don't recommend the Greek food.
Great Mediterranean food! Very authentic and I prefer this restaurant over any other Mediterranean food in the county. Great pizza and Gyros!
I ordered the kafta plate on a bed of salad, w tomatoes & red onions, hummus & tazatziki. I was going to eat there, but unfortunately the restaurant was very cluttered and needs a DEEP cleaning. They forgot the dressing for the salad & put the hot meat on top, so it was dry & soggy. Tazatziki had little flavor, hummus was good not great, meat had flavor but was really dry & chewy, pita was stale. I was very disappointed. With a few tweaks & extra attention to detail it could be awesome. Won't be back. Baklava was good.
This place is amazing! People who run the business are super kind and generous. Everything we had was crazy good. We would absolutely return. Hours are great, lots of seating and parking, right on Main St, public restroom, large cooler with drinks, and tons of menu options. And yes- vegan is available! Most everything is made from scratch in house. There is a special garlic lemon sauce we had with our calzones- ask for it! One of the very few places serving calzones, let alone vegan calzones. Just ask for no cheese. Ours came stuffed with veggies. They permitted our dog in the outdoor seating area. We got another calzone to go. Wait was only 10min each time. Highly recommend this hidden gem!!!
Excellent quality pizza.... The Greek salad was excellent too. Definitely will be back
Best ever Pizza's are from this place! ???? Catering is even available. You won't be disappointed ...
