This was our first time at Ted's. Decided to check it out since we were here for a concert. I highly recommend the shrimp appetizer, absolutely delicious. I had the George Classic Cadillac beef burger which was one of the best burgers I've had. My husband had the trout which he said was delicious as well. Service was great ( we had Amber the night we went), great personality, didn't rush us, it was great!
TLDR: Best restaurant in Columbus, has bison meat, cool atmosphere, and awesome staff! Absolutely must visit kinda place.
I'm a native Montanan, but I swear I'm not biased. One of the top 5 meals I've ever had and best dinner I've had in Columbus. There were many reasons for this.
1. Ted's serves bison burgers. If you've never had bison, it is tastier than any beef burger and miraculously lean. Bison cooked medium rare is an absolute treat
2. The other ingredients on the burger were absolutely top notch. Gruyere cheese, bacon caramelized onions, baby arugula, blue cheese, and garlic aioli (the Avalon burger). All quality and a perfect combination.
3. Great atmosphere, really nice restaurant and bar, maps of central Montana on the table to make Montanans like me homesick, great presentation on everything.
4. I don't drink, but I did look at the drink menu and the selection was huge and not overpriced for its location.
5. Really nice clean restrooms.
6. Our server Noah was fantastic (as was the bartender who greeted us). He was the perfect combination of professional and engaging. Made us feel welcome, but didn't linger.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dinner!
Update: Ate here again for my birthday (my favorite restaurant in Columbus) and it was excellent AGAIN! Had the onion rings as an appetizer this time and they were spectacular, I forgot to mention how good their ranch is in the last review (a Montana must), and our server Ariel did an absolutely amazing job (the same mix of engaging and professional that made last time great.
I wish I could give a 4.5, but since I’m my heart I cannot give a 5, I must go with a 4. With a bar in an arena district with morning/noon events, opening at 11 am is not a good enough reason not to have a noteworthy Bloody Mary. It was at best underwhelming when compared to the rest of our order. I will say that the shared grilled shrimp starter was the best part of my meal - the lemon vinaigrette on the arugula made me want an entire plate of it to myself. I followed that up with the bison short ribs. Which were so incredibly tender that I was hooked. But the “buttered” carrots missed their turn in a heat source and failed to meet up with the butter friend that was supposed to get a ride. I’m not a mashed potato person unless they are out of this world - and these were just ok. I know I should have requested a substitution, but as a first visit I like to do as the menu recommends. A four star, won’t dissuade me from coming back - I still need to try a bison steak when I’m not rushing out the door to get to the arena. Next time Ted - imma want butter on my carrots.
The food was great but the service was Excellent!!! I want to give this place 10 stars for the way our waiter and staff catered to my Awesomely Autistic son Nicholas. Our waiter made my son's first dining experience in Columbus , OH...THE ABSOLUTE BEST
An absolute must try. Do not pass on the bison, it’s so amazing. I had the bison burger, and my husband the bison steak and it was some of the best food we have had. The food was just the absolute best. The waitress we had was so friendly. They make a great drinks. Our entire friends group was impressed. They have great gluten free options. The parking was a bit difficult, but that’s to be expected with any downtown restaurant.
The atmosphere was nice and our server was very kind and attentive. The bison burger was also so delicious. Definitely get that, it’s worth the extra few dollars!
We had no wait at all that was great and the waitress was on point and often came over to check on us. The ranch is on another level it's the best ranch I have ever tasted no doubt. The burgers were so good well seasoned and tasty we will definitely be back son approved .
