Maggie did an AMAZING job on my hair! It was also my first time getting it done at team cutters!!
I’ve been going here for years but my normal stylist had moved on. I saw an apprentice which when an apprentice is released to work on hair they should be able to actually work on hair. The first apprentice messed up the color to where red was put on the blonde bits of my hair then a few hairs were missed in the front then the owner insulted my saying it was “facial hair” go get the blame off of her. I gave them another try because I’m not sure where else to go. That woman butchered my normally thick full hair into a V-cut which I specifically said I didn’t want. Now when I look in the mirror the front pieces are shoulder length and looks like I have a bob without pulling my hair all to one side. My full hair now feels thin and I can’t stand it. I was assured this second person was proficient but she went against everything I wanted by saying she didn’t speak English well. However when Dawn spoke to her she acted as though she understood quite well. What a nightmare
Cheyanne at team cutters did an amazing job on my wedding updo. I could not have been happier. It was exactly what i wanted. I flew in from iowa and she only had pictures to go from until she met me on my wedding day. She was super friendly (as was all the team cutters staff) and overall i would HIGHLY recommend! I scheduled a DevaCut via phone and chose a stylist based on this fact, who listed it online as a specialty of hers. When I arrived at my appt for the DevaCut, I mentioned that I wanted to have it styled straight when I left. The stylist told me she would cut it wet, then, because of this fact, and we headed to the shampoo bowl. This is not how DevaCut's are done. The expertise with a DevaCut is demonstrated by cutting curls in their natural state so the shape and style look their best. I have had many excellent DevaCut’s at other places. I had to wait a month for this appt and was only there for the expertise of a DevaCurl trained professional. I took a chance that maybe she knew something I didn't know about her ability to cut curly hair wet and still get the curls to look their best. The cut did not look good on me, and I called for a re-cut after the first wash and curly style on my own.
For the recut, she did the cut while it was dry, but asked ME how to cut the curls. I had to show her specific curls that stuck straight out instead of falling towards the head.
I was on a waitlist for a color appt and was glad to get it done at the same time as the re-cut.The two colors we discussed were blonde and brown highlights. They were to complement my blonde highlights, and my natural hair color. Well, the colors aren't a great match for my hair, and one is an unnatural orange-red, even though I specifically told her I did not want red. Furthermore, I left there with highlights already needing a root touch up because she did not go close to the roots when applying color.
So here I am 100's of dollars later, looking foolish til it grows out. Two stars because they have a nice beverage selection, a nice retail selection, and the front staff are great.
May 2023 update: The employee who did such a terrible job on my hair has given two weeks notice so Team Cutters is worth another try!
I can not say enough great things about my experience! Maggie did an amazing job. I got my hair colored, highlighted, and cut. I have definitely found my hair salon!
Always a great place to go to feel better about your hair! Staff are friendly, helpful and willing to work with schedules to find the best appointment time. The stylists are knowledgeable, professional and respectful. ????♀️????♂️
I’m so happy with my highlights and cut. I was skeptical because I have not had a good experience with salons in Fairbanks. My stylist moved away three years ago and I have been unsuccessfully searching since. FINALLY I found an experienced professional in Dawn. Such a pleasant experience from start to finish. My color is spot on, could not have been better. I was so shocked by how good it was I walked out the door without tipping! I went back and brought a tip! I highly recommend this salon.
Cheyenne was great! She took the time to make sure I was happy with my haircut, despite the fact that it was closing time. Even took the time to style my hair like I wanted.
I donated my hair and they had the paperwork for a reputable place to donate it for me to mail it off.
Great place!
