French onion soup was excellent broth w onions. Could have been baked a little longer to give me some crisp on the cheese. The Reuben was decent but I found it a little bland, but dipping it in the soup made the two excellent together. French fries or better than the homemade chips which was a surprise. Maybe the chips were cooked beforehand.
My vegetarian wife had the grilled cheese and it liked it.
Stopped in on my way through Scottsville. I was definitely Disappointed with the food I received. Service was pretty decent and the beer was pretty cool, but the food was awful. They gave free wings as a special. I ordered barbecue and you could tell that once the wings were cooked, someone just open a bottle of barbecue sauce and poured it on top of the wings. I fish and fries and the fish had an extremely hard exterior and nothing but mush inside. I left this place exactly the way I came hungry.
Excellent bar and restaurant. Great food, large open bar to watch sports, and a separate, multi-level restaurant in a historic building. Very friendly employees. I had the special: pot roast, which took me back to my mother's Midwest cooking...yummmm.
We found the place on Google. We went in at about 4 on April 27, 2024. There was 4 in our party and was seated right away. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The marinara was delicious. My one and I ordered the French dip. My other son ordered a cheese burger and my grandson ordered kids cheese burger and cheese fries. The kids burger was almost as big as an adult burger. My French dip was Devine. Steak was over top the bun and the cheese melted perfectly. The dipping juice was just over the top when you dipped the sandwich in it. It was all hot and fresh and came out in a timely manner. The prices were not to bad . If we ever come back to this area again we would eat here in a minute!
Great relaxed tasty place to enjoy. We had the James river Burger which was awesome. Foods a bit pricey it we were not at all disappointed. Excellent service.

For the service, There was only one overly worked server on the floor. But she was super nice! (Ty was her name I believe)
The food is way overpriced for how poorly it is prepared. The watery chicken parm. had more breading than chicken with a hamburger bun for garlic bread and the chicken on the fruit salad was plain boiled cold chicken.
Drinks are decently priced but the food is overpriced.
Management/quality control in the kitchen needs addressing, however the from of the house is amazing and atmosphere is admirable.
AT the end we expressed our dissatisfaction and the manager was very accomidating.
It's been several years in between visits. If I was rating it from a few years ago, the rating would have been higher. This time around, honestly, I was disappointed. I had the Philly Cheese Steak and my wife had a Reuben. She said the Reuben was good but the cheese steak fell short of the mark. In fact it repeated on me for the rest of the day and that never happens to me. Could have just been an off day in the kitchen, but I was disappointed. And I also felt, (despite the fact that everything has gone up in price), the check was a bit steep for two sandwiches.
The service, however, was fine.
Very expensive and not worth it. Quality is low and way overpriced. We dined in and while the service was good, it took forever to get the food out. I ordered a garden salad and French onion soup. The salad was iceberg lettuce with barely any toppings on it (no meat) for a whopping $15… totally overpriced. The side of soup was $9 and was ok but very salty. He ordered a beef dish that was good but the portion was so tiny, we both left hungry after spending over $60 on snack food.
