Cool bar/pub outside of the hustle and bustle of Myrtle. Food was great. Service was excellent. Will be revisiting whenever in town! Highly recommend the buffalo chicken dip and the chicken fiesta pizza!
We’ll start with us walking into the place and five servers and hosts being at the host stand just staring at us as we walk in. I think ONE of them actually said hello or welcome. I had to say party of two to get them to stop gawking. We got sat at our table, pretty cozy atmosphere. Our server greeted us and was nice. We ordered bar drinks and waters, received bar drinks and no waters. Bar drinks were definitely built, could tell from no foam from a shaker and alcohol was swirling around at the bottom so you know how it tasted. Ordered our entrees also ordered cheese curds they came out fast and were good and fresh. Still haven’t received waters. Our server has passed our table several times at this point. Our food came out but before that I had to flag down our server (she hadn’t checked on us or the food, a quick “enjoy your food” and whizzed by us), to get us some waters because I couldn’t take drinking the alcoholic beverage anymore. Chicken was unseasoned, dry and my partners pulled pork sandwich was straight up “not good”. And he never complains about food, a Marine is just happy to eat. Plate presentation wasn’t there either, chicken smudges were all over the plate. Didn’t check on our table again until I flagged her down yet again for the tab and a box considering I barely touched my entree. We still had to wait because she had a six top right next to us, so I cut her some slack. As we waited I couldn’t help but look over to the bar and bartenders to watch this man continuously stroke his beard while he stocked bar glasses ????????I was definitely over the experience after that. Left our cash on the table and just so happened to pass our server on the way out. She didn’t even say bye! Worked in restaurants for years and this experience was just unacceptable. Was pretty busy so customers were there so maybe we got the short end of the stick but we more than likely won’t be back.
Decided to sit outside, being a “nonstandard patio” and the only patrons using it we were concerned the service would be sketchy at best. Well, we were wrong, they were attentive, quick and friendly. The beer is COLD and the pizza was amazing. If you’re travelling here, please take the time to enjoy this local restaurant.
Stopped for dinner with my brother and sister in law. Was a little chilly on our end of the restaurant, but the server and food helped to make for a good experience. The girls both chose fish and chips and they give a choice if different sides. They picked mashed taters and spinich. The spinach was buttery and good and both reported the fish to be very good. I had a hangover burger which among other things has an egg and onion straws. My brother chose the Buffalo chicken dish which is garnished with blue cheese. Along with a few drinks it was a good impromptu stop.
Excellent quality food for a great price!! Lunch was only $12.95!! Delicious!! It has a great vibe!! Service was quick. More than one wait staff made sure we had everything we needed.
Food was great, atmosphere was good, servers were great. Will definitely come back if in the area again. The duck wonton were really different and tasted good. The fried pickles came out as enough for 3 or 4 to easily share.
Very good burgers, made to your liking. Good drinks, wings. Ample seating, better than average service. Good buffalo chicken dip. We've gone there often. Very friendly service, especially from Brent at the bar.
Tavern is hands down the best bar in the area. The food, service, and atmosphere are simply the best around.
Amanda particularly is absolutely AMAZING! She is always extremely happy and on top of her game! Everyone at Tavern is amazing, but she stands out as the BACK BONE of this great restaurant/ bar.
