South Lyon is my hometown and I love to give all the small shops my business…but even if Billy Smokes wasn’t there, I would still 100% recommend! My favorite tattoo shop by far…great art work, reasonable prices and most of all: friendly people! I just got my 3rd tattoo by Mr. Billy Smokes himself! Him and his lovely wife (and their cute baby boy) made me feel relaxed and at home. I will definitely be back and will take every opportunity to send friends and family there! ????????????
Got my first large tattoo here and it was an amazing experience. I worked with Billy and his wife and they were both unbelievably welcoming and so very nice. They made it so easy to figure out my tattoo and help with any questions or concerns I had. Everyone there, are all incredibly talented artists. Once I was there it instantly felt like being tattooed at home. Can't say enough good things about my experience here. I'll %100 be back for more.

Billy and his wife were amazing to us! Four rowdy college kids came in for their first tattoo to commemorate their college experience with a matching tattoo. We had a cancellation at another place and Billy gracefully took us in for a same-day appointment and kept the shop open later for us. They made us feel so welcome and calmed our nerves about design, size, placement, pain, and aftercare. Billy was extremely kind and walked us through every step. He even applied the tegaderm bandages that we brought with us for us. The place was extremely clean and zen with complementary candy and water. Billy’s baby boy made a repeated appearance to keep us entertained. The tattoo’s were all incredible with extremely clean line work and he was very careful to ensure their longevity, going back multiple times to clean up things until they were perfect.
Working with Billy and his wife has been a pleasure. Just got my 2nd tattoo and my wife has 1 from Billy. His line work is amazing and he has a very gentle touch. Highly recommend him for any tattoo work. And I’ll be back for more!!!
Definitely coming here for my next tattoo.
I needed help with a new piercing ASAP but my regular shop was closed until Monday. So I called this shop to see if they did piercings or just tattoos, but no one answered the phone. I didn’t bother to leave a message and was just going to try another shop.
Not even 90 seconds later I get a text message from the shop, saying that I can inquire about an appoint via text by including the details of the tattoo. I replied with my question regarding my piercing but i thought it was an automated response to the missed call, so I didn’t expect a reply until the next day.
But they replied immediately. Who does that? Next level customer service right there.
Stopped in on a whim during Pumpkinfest and got to work with Cisco! The atmosphere is welcoming and clean. My boyfriend got his first tattoo and it couldn't have been a better experience! Cisco walked him through the healing process as he was going on a long fishing trip the day after- he healed PERFECTLY! I got one as well and it's the most relaxed I've felt with an artist. We will be back!
I had a phenomenal experience with Tattoos by Billy Smokes. I decided to go with Billy because I was impressed with his black and gray portfolio I saw on his Instagram.
Going into the tattoo I was intimidated that my piece was going to take 4 hours. That quickly went away because Billy technique is so smooth I barely felt anything the entire four hours.
Billy was great about asking if I needed breaks or anything else. The piece came out perfect, I am so happy I went with Billy. Shop is clean, sanitized, etc.
Getting a tattoo is a big deal, I would Highly recommended Billy!!
Update - After 3 weeks everything healed perfectly, and healed exactly the way Billy described.
