I used to be a regular at Pho King next door, since it’s an Oakland institution. But then I tried the oxtail soup at Tasty Bowl and now I almost always end up at Tasty Bowl. My partner gets the vermicelli bowl, which is fresh and yummy, and the shrimp cake appetizer is exceptional as well. Friendly service, much like the other family pho spots in the neighborhood.
Very nice place in Oakland by the lake. It's got an nice open space and has night out door dining to. So many options with food that I enjoyed. Good service was fast and good. And prices were good. Overall good experience and good food. Would recommend for a group of friends.

First time trying their food since they opened, I must say it is good. Order the (Beef over Ho Fun Noodles) to go, and when they say tasty bowl they really meant it!.. Comes with it's own bowl.
The combination pho was so good. The broth was clear and yummy. Also recommend the spicy wontons
My husband and I have been going to Tasty Bowl for years. Between food and boba we are there almost weekly.
Today while walking home I became extremely overheated and began to feel sick. My phone had died minutes earlier and I needed to call my husband to pick me up.
I was near Tasty Bowl and asked if I could sit on the patio for a moment to cool down. There were no customers on the patio. The owners, who know who I am, and are always happy to take my money every week, were both rude and reluctant to offer me a seat to rest. It was clear that I was unwell. When I then asked to use the phone to call my husband, I was again refused assistance. I had to beg to use the phone.
I am shocked and disgusted by their behaviour. We will never go back.
Stop supporting businesses that do not care about the Black community or our health and safety.
I am vietnamese, have tried so many vietnamese restaurants in Oakland. I can say that Tasty bowl is the best vietnamese restaurant in the town. But I'm sure not many people knows that. The menu doesn't have many dishes but the quality is excellent, like you are in Vietnam. I tried all in the menu, all is the best that i can find in USA. Everytime i finished the plats, nothing left in the bowl. I tried the restaurant beside - Pho K.. but it made me very disappointed, maybe it is good enough for the American because they don't know how the real vietnamese taste is, but it is only zero for the real vietnamese like me. Everytime i go out for lunch or dinner, Tasty Bowl is my first choice. Price and customer service are great too.
The food here is awesome! I usually get the meat special (I think that’s what it’s called), shrimp/pork spring rolls, and the passion fruit green tea. The broth is rich and tasty, my recommendation is to add some basil and lime to enhance the flavor ???? In my opinion, I think there should be more noodles. As for the pork/shrimp spring rolls, they taste great dipped in that creamy peanut sauce.
