Tastee Spoon has been my go to spot for many years now but I finally got a change to visit the new restaurant! The ambience is very nice and goes well with the meal and staff! The food is always delicious! My favorite is the jerk chicken breast with Mac & cheese, rice & peas, and of course the broccoli rice with cheese! I am never disappointed during dine in or take out! I appreciate the fast service and the consistency! If you haven’t been yet, please visit ASAP! You will not be disappointed
My friend and I were in town visiting and we were craving Jamaican food. We decided to try it and we’re glad we did! As soon as we walked in, we were greeting and able to find seats. The atmosphere was chill. The music was a vibe, but not too loud where you weren’t able to converse freely.
Our waitress was super cool and laid back. She gave us time to look at the menu, made suggestions, and was overall super sweet!
I had the Rasta Plate with Mac & Cheese, Plantains, Rice & Peas, & Cabbage. THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD! Everything was flavored so well and the food came out hot! Our waitress suggested to try the cabbage with the Jerk Sauce and BABY! That was so good. My friend has the oxtails (not pictured) and loved them!! I tried some of her oxtail gravy on the Rice & Peas and will DEFINITELY be ordering that next time. She also brought out slices of cornbread and it literally melted in my mouth. So good!
I also had a chance to ask our waitress about Dunwoody as a whole as well as the live music events they host at the location. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming.
I cannot say enough great things about this place! I am so excited visit again and bring friends and family here! I’ll definitely be back to update on their brunch and live music events!!
This was my first time at this restaurant. I don't live in the area, so this was a recommendation from a friend. I was out with my sister for her birthday. The service was great! The wait staff was very attentive, and the food came out fast! They have a robot waiter, which was really cool. The robot waiter delivered the food and beverages to the tables. It was also accompanied by a person to ensure smooth service. The food was good. The callaloo was the only thing that was not the greatest for me. It was chopped up one time, too many, which made it mushy, and it was dry. Somehow, it tasted better when I reheated it the next day????????♀️
Now I don't know WHO made their cornbread, but, MY GOD, TUHDAY!! It was so light, fluffy, and moist! And they didn't overdo it with the actual corn kernels in it.
Overall, it was a great experience.
I got a beef patty and the curried goat (not pictured) but it was served hot and delicious! I dined alone so I sat at the bar and my waitress, Silvia, took really good care of me. My only complaint is the dimly lit restaurant which is why I didn’t take any more food photos but it’s perfect for a romantic evening. There was r&b playing but it wasn’t too loud so easy to have a conversation. I’ll definitely be back.
Just checked off another food spot from my list, and Tastee Spoon did not disappoint! We went for lunch on a Wednesday, it was pretty empty, which I don't mind. They serve all of your classic Jamaican cuisine. I ordered the oxtails, peas n rice, cabbage, beef patty, curry goat, and mac and cheese!! EVERYTHING was good! The patty was homemade and fresh, the Mac and cheese???????? and the oxtails and curry were falling off the bone!!! Oh, and they have robots to bring your food to you, it was pretty dope! It's definitely one of the best Jamaican restaurants I have had.
Upon entering the establishment the cashier at the front wasn’t welcoming at all with her nonchalant greeting. Maybe she was having a bad day, idk. However, the restaurant quickly redeemed themselves because the bartender’s service was OUTSTANDING. We got complimentary cornbread which was moist but a little too soft for my liking.. We ordered the jerk chicken meal (rice & peas, mac & cheese and plantains), shrimp pasta and loaded jerk chicken fries. We loved everything but once you add their special jerk sauce, the food was elevated. It was also cost efficient and the atmosphere was nice. We will be back!
I’ve been here a few times now and this place is a hit or miss depending on the day. I’ve had too many times where the food just wasn't good unfortunately. The last time I got food from here the rice was hard and tasted undercooked and the curry chicken didn’t taste good and there was barely any sauce with the chicken. I do think the chicken patty is good and so are the fried dumplings. If you can catch this place on a good day, the food is decent. The service is good and the employees have always been pleasant.
Such a great experience! The food was amazing and the service was even better. I ordered the jerk chicken wings for an appetizer and my entree I had oxtails, cabbage and Mac and cheese. We also received complimentary cornbread which was very good as well.
