The last two times I ordered from Taste of the Caribbean my order was missing an item. I want to be fair that the food used to be AMAZING when they first opened. We were so excited and happy to support but somehow it has fallen off. The Doubles with Tamarind sauce is my favorite but I didn’t even taste the tamarind today and the last time I ordered my doubles was missing. Today, I didn’t get my pholourie. It’s disappointing when you had your heart set on a dish and it doesn’t show up. I also called the restaurant before ordering to assure they had the items that I wanted but no one answered my call. If you don’t have an item please consider making it unavailable to customers.
I really want this Caribbean spot to succeed so please take this feedback and put the love you used to put into the food. I will try to support a few more times since I love seeing Caribbean Americans win. I will happily update my review if the food gets better because I have enjoyed the food here before.
Wow. This food was VERY good and I am from the Caribbean so I have high standards lol I got the oxtail w/rice and peas and cabbage. The sauce was a little sweet but I liked it. I was also lucky enough to get a fresh batch of Mac and cheese. So good. Tasted homemade and was actually seasoned.
40 min wait for curry chickpea and potatoes and the order was called in. Sat 30 mins inside waiting when others ordered shrimp and fish which is cooked to order 25mins and they ALL came.out before a veggie platter. Great food but the service gets worse and worse daily
This is my second time here, and the food was good. I tried the doubles and the curry chicken Roti. The doubles were perfect. They were as soft as a pillow with the perfect bite. The pepper sauce was definitely spicy but brought great flavor to the dish. Either way with or without the pepper sauce, it will still be good. The curry chicken was seasoned beautifully, with the roti being huge. This was the perfect meal for me. I'll definitely go back.
First all the food taste Great!
However I bought oxtail with rice for $22 , they gave me only 4 pieces of oxtail, mostly bone with a lot of plantains no salad, food was completely small , I wasn’t satisfied with the food quality for that price.

What a horrible experience! I ordered souse, It was poorly seasoned wood scraps of Cow heal and was extremely oily instead of savory. The oxtails were rubbery and tasteless, and finally the Pholourie was dry and overcooked plus they didn’t put any sour in the bag …never again!
They advertise their karaoke starts at 6pm. I came here only to find out the DJ is late. They told me the DJ may come at 7pm or 7:30pm. I’m not going to wait for an hour and a half wasting my precious time. They didn’t even apologize for their staff being late. So I just left. What an underwhelming karaoke experience
