Great service and amazing food! Stumbled upon this little gem while in Denham Springs just outside Baton Rouge. The folks helping serve took such good care of the patrons I thought they owned the place. With knowledge and obvious pride in their work it's nice to see people who care about people and their workplace that much - it definitely shows.
Hours are reduced from 11:00 to 3 Tues-Sat until Covid season passes and there's more traffic. Until then they won't have beer or wine but with food this good you won't even notice!
What I ordered: If you know me you know I had to start with the beignet sticks. ???? They piled on the powered sugar after they fried them to perfection. I definitely suggest these as an appetizer - mouth watering.
Next was the Crab Magnolia - featuring their (95% crab meat) blue crab cake served on top of the most delicate bed of organic spring mix that literally melts in your mouth. Now, I'm not one for horseradish usually but their house-made remoulade sauce was "to die for". Rumor has it that they make all of their dressings in house including the tartar sauce which I did not get the opportunity to try. The magnolia plate included a cup of the shrimp and corn soup. The soup was creamy, not too rich and the shrimp were extremely succulent... I included a photo with my spoon boosting up the shrimp so you can check this out. The garlic bread included was just as amazing - I even ordered an extra serving.
Last but certainly not least was the Real Roast Beef with Gravy Po-boy. This included a healthy helping of the perfectly breaded and golden brown french fries. The roast beef is tender and just falls apart right in your mouth. Served on top of a huge po-boy roll that I'm certain is made in-house as well, although I did not ask specifically.
All said, this was an incredible meal/experience and although I would have loved to stay and finish my entire meal I arrived close to closing time and was able to take leftovers with me for later.
I'm tempted to go back tomorrow and order something to try that housemaid tartar sauce before I leave town. Mmmm... Mmmm...

When I arrived, there wasn’t one open seat in the house. The servers apologized for the potential 45 minute wait. I decided to order to go, which took my wait time down to 30 minutes. They offered to get me something to drink, and they worked quickly to get my lunch ready. I ordered the fried shrimp, french fries, hush puppies and garlic bread, and it was worth every second that I waited. The shrimp were flavored perfectly. The batter was just right. The fries are so crispy on the outside that it crunches when you bite them, and they are perfectly tender on the inside. Amazing food! Amazing staff! 10/10 recommend!!
Quaint little place in the Antique block of Denham Springs. Friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Amazing salad. They even let me order off-menu. Highly recommend for fish, seafood, etc. That shrimp and cornbread dressing... mmmmm.
Cozy atmosphere, clean, good service, delicious food but, it's very pricey for small portions. So, - 2☆'s bec , the portions are small for steep prices. 2 for 2.
Y'all gotta try the hurricane fries.
Everything here is AMAZING, and it's got such a nice cozy feel. The owner is amazing, and the quality of the food is just superb.
Definitely worth a visit... Or 12.
My absolute fav restaurant in DS! Delicious food, nice staff and the owners are awesome. I love the new and I tereting things they come up with, while still keeping the standards delicious!
Incredible flavor and presentation of dishes served. Wait staff hard working, helpful, and genuinely kind.
