The food is good, I got home and realized they forgot my 2 beef patties!!! I'm not happy with the prices but it's good food. Get the regular or large because these are the lunch specials unless you plan on dining in. I paid 40 bucks for this and the two mango carrot drinks. I hope I get my patties tomorrow.....it's kinda a far drive but it was worth it to find a new Jamaican restaurant. Always double check your food!!! It gets busy so speak up!!!
This place is valid and the food is AMAZING!!! I went twice to check consistency and they impressed me both times. They have definitely gained a customer. I had the curry chicken, jerk chicken, rice and Peas and beef patty. The food was hot, flavored just right, fresh and most importantly delicious. The beef patty had a good amount of filling and the crust was so soft and flaky. I can't wait to try other items!!
I usually order my sides here to go with my main dish at home. I have the rice&peas w/ oxtail gravy, mac&cheese, and plantains. First time going in, instead of ordering from door dash. Great service, warm atmosphere !! They never disappoint ????????????
The sweetest person waited on us! Very patient because I had no clue what I wanted… I ended up buying oxtails with rice and peas and cabbage, with a beef Pattie as well. IT WAS AMAZING! SO FLAVORFUL, AND WELL SEASONED! Whatever they price the food at it’s WORTH IT! But it’s not expensive AT ALL considering the hike in food prices! WILL DEFINITELY BE HERE ON A WEEKLY BASIS!!!! Going back tomorrow as a matter of fact!
The young lady at the front counter was very nice. I waited about 30 to 40 minutes for my food and I got it it smelled bad. I ordered fish so I thought that fish smelled overly fishy. I ordered Mac and cheese and peas and rice both were nasty; the Mac and cheese didn’t taste like Mac and cheese it taste like the peas and rice. I feel like I wasted money because I couldn’t eat it, the food was just that bad, I ended up throwing the entire plate away. I bought this veggie tarry drink it was so good. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone
Taste of Jamaica is the BEST Jamaican food in Jacksonville Florida period. To find better you would have to go into an old Jamaican grandma's kitchen. The food is seasoned. The oxtail is delicious and tender, the pork cooked tender ,and delicious. Even the chicken patty is seasoned and delicious. The prices and the service are great. In this day and age when everyone is trying to cook oxtail and giving Caribbean food a bad name. Taste of Jamaica brings the pride and deliciousness back to Caribbean food. A MUST TRY.
Hit alllll the spots! Sweet plantain! Chicken Curry and 2 slices of the Black Fruit Cake washed down woth some Sorrel. YUMMMM!!!
I have tried a lot of Jamaican restaurants in Jacksonville, and this one is hands-down, the best! The staff and chef are so friendly and the food is delicious and you get incredible portions.
I always get excited and eat the food before I remember to take pictures for the review. Sorry!
