Ordered for delivery for lunch today. This food taste like someone’s grandma is in the kitchen! It’s delicious. I had the doubles and shrimp dhalpuri! This new to me place will be in my regular rotation of places to eat now!!
Going here for years. Always the best chicken, goat dhalpuri roti. Doubles are tasty. Reminds me of the first taste of Trini food I had in Tobago years ago. The black cake is worth trying.
Ever since my husband introduced me to Tara's Roti Shop six years ago, we've been hooked! Even though we don't live as close as we used to, we still make the drive out to Tampa just to get our fix. The food here? Absolutely amazing. The flavors are always spot on—truly impeccable.
I've read some reviews mentioning not-so-great service, but honestly, just come ready to order and enjoy the food. We've never had any issues. The owner and her daughter are really just focused on running their business and serving up delicious meals.
So, don't let anything stop you from checking out Tara's. Trust me, it's worth it for those rotis!
Delicious local food!! Caribbean so some of it gets spicy ???? Close to Busch Gardens! There is plenty of parking. Reasonable prices. Worth it to feed your family HEALTHIER HOME COOKED food ????
The doubles here are perfectly authentic! And the very spice has kick and just the way I like it! Had a roti as well it was pretty good too but for sure recommend the doubles. Oh also recommend waiting for order outside as the incense are a little intense for a restaurant.
So never had Trinidadian food before but I would say it was pretty good. The shrimp curry and roti was 10-10 and my wife’s curry chicken was 10-10. The owner was very sweet and nice and the place was very clean too. I definitely recommend to try this spot. PS the pepper sauce have amazing taste too .
After reading the reviews below, I’ve realized that the owner has not acquired any customer service skills from the low scores given. My hubby and I were visiting from out of town and decided to give it a try and she was so rude! Never again! I don’t care about how good the food was (it wasn’t), but you don’t take my money and disrespect me. Lady get a grip, if you hate the work so much, find another line of employment. Take those flags down, you don’t represent TT and the Caribbean!
I wanted to have some doubles because it has been a long time. Upon arrival the atmosphere was quiet and people sitting waiting then after looking around I was ready to order when Miss Tara came out and said the wait time was 30 mins. I sat down and waited patiently then after time passed she returned and took my order and explained she was alone and very short staffed. I wanted to offer my help but didn't want to aggravate the stressful situation for her. When my doubles arrived it was worth the wait, very tasty good channa and nice barrah
I understand things happen each day and especially challenging with a business to run so if you ever feel like she isn't polite just think for a second that maybe the stress is too much for one person doing the job of 3 people and you can sit down or go elsewhere
Tara kudos for trying to get the job done by yourself and try to keep a positive attitude that will allow things to get better and stay strong in your FAITH
