I am so disappointed regarding my take out order. I ordered the cheese brisket tacos. One hardly had any meat and no cheese at all. None of them were cooked fully. There was little to no cheese in all three tacos. I don't understand why the to go orders have been like this. We order to go almost every Friday, and I've been disappointed all but one Friday. I don't understand why the to go orders are not made at the level of the sit-in restaurant orders.
We had a group of ten and with reservation, our table was ready. Everyone's food looked good. It was inexpensive and my food was good. They had a live band. This was Saturday night.
We were visiting Shreveport and had a taste for some street tacos. This place did not disappoint! The chorizo queso was delicious. I kept finding myself digging my chip in because it was so addictive. The birria and street tacos were delicious. Pricing is reasonable for the amount of food. So glad we stopped here for a bite before heading back to Texas!
Had been a few years since we had visited. Couldn't have enjoyed it any better. Food was terrific. Server was excellent. Took no time it seemed before our order was taken then delivered to us. The frosted mug of a cold one what you talkin bout!! We have been to countless Mexican and tex-mex eateries around Shreveport Bossier but this one is definitely worth the time to check out. I had the brisket tacos with beans and rice and the ol lady had one them chili reno thingamajabobs and welp it must've been good due to the fact she devoured it
Yummy food, good customer service and reasonable prices. Sopapillas were probably the best I've had yet.
First time eating here and won’t be our last. Food and service were excellent. Thanks Betsy!
This place was quite busy when I sat down for lunch. Unlike many taquerias, San Miguel operates liked a regular Mexican restaurant instead of a grocery store atmosphere.
I was seated quickly and brought the infamous chips & salsa right away. At first glance I thought the salsa was going to be average but that turned out to be wrong. It had quite a nice tangy flavor that kept me eating it for way too long. ???? My addiction to chips & salsa is well documented. The chips were a yellow corn variety and were of a medium thickness.
This being my first time I struggled with what to order a bit but couldn't get past trying the Birria Tacos I saw on Google Maps.
The food came quickly and I was ready to dive in. A BIT OF A WARNING: These tacos were quite messy and required about 3 large napkins to eat! 3 tacos came on the plate accompanied by a salad, Birria dipping sauce, and a green hot sauce. I found myself opening the tacos and putting a squirt of green hot sauce, and then dipping them in the Birria sauce. While the tacos were quite tasty, I don't think they were as good as the Chica Tacos at Ramirez. A few downsides: The tacos were incredibly greasy and contained a lot more fat than I would prefer in a taco. (I don't prefer fat in a taco. ????) They were slippery to the touch as well. But the flavor was amazing!
So to answer the big question, "Would I go back?" I certainly would. I enjoyed the chips & salsa and would like to give some other menu items a shot.
San Miguel STAYS busy, rightfully so! Another yummy order - I got the Al Pastor street taco meal and a Paloma to go.
Typically get carry out but have done dine a couple times. Delicious food, great happy hour drink specials and friendly staff. Cool local spot!
