**An exceptional Peruvian experience!**
I visited this Peruvian restaurant today and was delighted. The food was superb; every dish was full of authentic and delicious flavors. From the fresh ceviche to the lomo saltado, everything was a treat.
The place is very cozy, with a warm and pleasant atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Additionally, the ambiance is lively and perfect for enjoying a great meal with friends or family.
The service was also excellent. The staff was very attentive and friendly, always ready to help and ensure we had a great experience.
Definitely a place I will return to and recommend to everyone. Don't miss it if you're looking for authentic Peruvian cuisine!
Tanta has THE best food we have eaten in Chicago. The pulpo was our favorite. The dish was beautiful and was a delight to the palate. We tried the cebiche trio - I thought clásico was the best, hubby preferred limeño and nikkei was too Asian for our Peruvian taste adventure. You need to get the taro chips with the cebiche, otherwise the acid is overpowering. And they are delicious on their own. Criollo (so fun to say!) was luxurious and velvety, but lacked dimension (salt & acid). Anticuchon was amazing! Definitely follow chef's instructions for medium rare. It was so tender, flavoful and spicy. For the Piscos - the clásico is similar to a margarita and I did not care for the chicha. Hubby wanted to get the maracuya and I unfortunately overrode him. He loved the chicha though! We took home the lucuma tres leches. It was gorgeous and not too sweet.
Tanta is amazing. Ambiance is great - very comfortable. The place is very clean. The service was phenomenal - super friendly staff, very attentive, our server gave great recommendations, our dirty plates were cleared immediately, our waters were never empty, I wish every restaurant was this good at being on top of every little detail. Cocktails were delightful. The food was absolutely delicious - bursting with flavors, fresh, high quality ingredients, beautiful presentation, I can't wait to go back and try more items!

An excellent Peruvian spot in River North with an exquisite modern interior, and each dish at this restaurant has outstanding flavors and great plating.
During our visit, we really enjoyed the Apaltado with its refreshing lime notes on salmon belly, the Anticuchon and its flavorful beef heart skewers, the Arroz Mariscos with its amazing seafood flavor, and the Lomo Saltado with a hearty taste in the tenderloin. Among the desserts, the Picarones were another highlight, especially with the cinnamon/anise syrup. Overall a very wonderful dining experience!
The foods at Tanta brought memories back to Peru. From house chips to the Nikke/Chifa dishes, everything was authentic and delicious. The empanada had perfect filling to dough ratio and large enough to share with friends.
From the drinks to the appetizers and main courses, all is great and you service is amazing. Asked for a spicy sauce and they have a great one.
The food was aaahmazing!! Everything was perfectly prepared and tasted delicious! Our server, MacKenzie, was amazing and he took really good care of us first-timers. Definitely recommend this place!
