Food was delicious. I went on a Dosa trip. I was introduced to some new things.
A strong recommend Dosas are like crispy crepes with filling (meat, veg or other items. The combinations are endless). You tear them off and dip in savory sauces that are on your tray. I had a thicker one that looked like a pancake and it was really good. I kind of wish I had some syrup or Mikes hot honey ????
Edit-
Today tried buffet. And was amazing.
Came true to my expectations.
Nice food .
Both non veg and dosa were very good
Would definitely visit again
Mysore Bonda with Chutneys are very tasty. Excellent starter on a cloudy/rainy day.
My kid liked Egg kothu Parotta with Salna and Chicken lollipop.
Special Chicken Briyani was tasty.
The food we got was pretty good. However, one of the items we ordered was not in the bag.
I called the restaurant and simply asked for the item to be removed from the bill since I would be an addition 40 minutes of driving to go back. They said to reach out to Chow Now to have the item removed. We did as requested and Chow Now advised the restaurant would have to approve the refund, which the restaurant denied. Per Chow Now, the restaurant stated all items were given and that no refund would be distributed.
The food was solid, but the goose chase tarnished the whole experience. I won’t be revisiting this establishment.
I had a great buffet style lunch meal at Tamarind Savoring India in Scott today. They had 9 different vegetarian dishes, 5 meat dishes, 4 desserts, 3 appetizers and fresh fruit too. Also, the buffet includes all you can eat and all you can drink mango lassi and chai. I have been to several other Indian buffets in Pittsburgh, Boston and Seattle and this is my favorite thus far. A friend from work, who was born and raised in India, recommended it and he was spot on. About 2/3 of the clientele were from India, which was a great sign that authentic food was being served. The food had so much flavor and I am going back tomorrow (Sunday), when I heard they’ll have many different items including goat biryani. And last but not least, Yushefa and John checked with me several times, cleared the plates promptly and were super friendly. It was also great to see Chef Sashin checking in on the food and regularly refilling the food at the buffet. Pictures are below. Thank you for an amazing and full of flavor food experience!
First time visiting, the good: food is delicious. The Gobi Manchuria was so damn good, it is so flavourful and I fell in love with one bite, it is also spicy too, but it was a good spiciness, it didn't hurt my stomach like some of other spicy things. But yes it was spicy. Also the Hyderabadi biryani was great! We also ordered the special tea and it was so different, so flavourful and if you like tea, you should try it.
Ok, so the part we thought could be improved: first I hate menus that you have to scan with your phone. Second, the girl who served us didn't seem to know the menu very well, we tried to order some chicken dishes under the "chicken" category, and she told us they were appetizers...hmmm...that doesn't sound right. Then, the food was served to the table in a weird order, we didn't get our food at same time and the appetizers were not served according to our order...so we had to tell them to pack the one that they didn't serve up so we can take home. Good thing was the portion was similar to what you will get when you dine in.
So, overall we were satisfied. Will we be back? Yes. But I do hope that the service can be improved a bit so we can communicate easier and be able to try something else without feeling awkward to order.
I recently had chance to dine at Tamarind (GreenTree) restaurant and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The buffet, which happens to be my favorite, exceeded my expectations in every way.
First and foremost, the service was truly amazing. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was top-notch. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations.
The ambiance of the restaurant was also worth mentioning. It had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with tasteful decor and comfortable seating. The restaurant was well-lit and had a cozy feel to it, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends and family.
Now, let's talk about the food. The appetizers were absolutely fantastic. Each bite was bursting with flavors and the presentation was visually appealing. The variety and quality of the appetizers were truly impressive.
And of course, the Briyani stole the show. It was flavorful, aromatic, and cooked to perfection. The rice was fluffy, and the spices were well-balanced, creating a delightful explosion of flavors in every bite. It was undoubtedly one of the best Briyanis I have ever had.
Overall, my experience at Tamarind Green Tree Indian restaurant was outstanding. From the amazing service to the good ambiance and the delectable appetizers and Briyani, it was a dining experience that I will cherish. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and satisfying Indian dining experience.
Most of my takeout order was incorrect. No biryani in the bag and received the wrong appetizer. That plus a generous tip that ended up being for absolutely nothing left me out more than $20.
Still 2 stars. The second star is because even though so much was wrong the food that was there was still excellent. Next time — yes, I’ll try again — will need to remove all items before leaving the restaurant to ensure accuracy since that step was apparently skipped before the food was bagged. Unfortunately in this case too long of a drive to go back. The food is always so good that I travel out of my way for it.
