This place is really hard to find unless you know it’s there. Definitely a locals spot. Place was packed on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The staff said hello to everyone coming in on a first named basis. Everyone was so friendly. The food was good. I had a sausage omelette and hash browns. Couldn’t even finish it since it was such a large portion. Prices are very reasonable.
I personally, liked the place. This is the place where all the locals go, so you will see a lot of local people here. If you missed your grandmas cooking, this is the place to go for breakfast. I really like the atmosphere here too.
Small friendly breakfast/lunch restaurant. Menu has almost of the basics and the dishes we ordered were good. Nothing fancy but satisfying, fast and hot with good coffee.

OMG! My husband and I first time there. When we walked in we got the best welcomed Greeting from the waitresses and Staff. And the food was just amazing. Everything was big size portions. I barely ate half of my food. Far as our service, it was wonderful. Ms Valarie was super wonderful. She was nice and friendly. We loved her customer service. We will be revisiting again.

I love love love ❤️ finding places like Taft Street Cafe. It’s one of those places you really have to look for and IYKYK. It’s nestled on the corner of N 64th and Taft Street in the last office building behind the Speedway Gas Station. The entrance is right beside the diesel generator. This is one of those diners where everybody knows your name. It was my first time but I felt like I belonged here. The food was outstanding I got my 2 eggs over medium ???? and they definitely have some tasty sausage links here????. I got my grits with cheese ???? and a biscuit with gravy. Everything was spot on because I didn’t even waste time to take a picture. I’m bad about that! I was hungry and Tate Street Cafe really hit the spot with great food at an unbeatable value. The atmosphere was a bit dated but I don’t care about that because it’s the people that really make this place shine. Service was FAST ⚡️ I literally didn’t wait but like 5 minutes if that for my order once it went to the kitchen. Now that I’ve found a gem I’m going to be sure to return anytime I’m in the area and I highly encourage everyone to check it out. BUT HURRY they are only open till 3pm!
