Those quesabirria tacos and sopes are my favorite; would highly recommend. Also love the micheladas and the camarones menu. This is my go-to every time I am in town. Friendly staff, great and fast service.
The absolute best authentic Mexican tacos and food in the Bay Area. Homemade fresh tortillas, well seasoned meat, fast service, and the flavor here is second-to-none. Redwood City is a highly competitive marketplace for good authentic Mexican food, and this is one of the best in the Bay. As a Bay Area native, this place comes highly recommended, and is named on several websites as a place to try for good Mexican food, and I can see why. Detailed review follows:
[The Food]
The tacos, burritos, and other menu items are delicious. They make their own tortillas fresh which gives them the edge over the competition in the Bay Area. The meat is always good, well seasoned, and not overly greasy. The food here is what I would describe as Mexican street style and not what you'd find at fancy Mexican restaurants. What results is an authentic Mexican food experience. This is our favorite place to get tacos and any other Mexican food.
[Customer Service]
The customer service here is great. Mostly young employees, family run, and super friendly. Every-time we come here the cashier is super nice. The food is really fast too. We usually don't wait more than 5 minutes for food.
[The Location]
Convenient location right off El Camino Real in Redwood City. Safe area, plenty of parking, and lots to do nearby. There's a large "Redwood City" sign across the street which you can go take pictures of if you're visiting as a tourist.
In conclusion, this is the BEST Mexican restaurant in the Bay Area. If you wanted to have more authentic Mexican food, I think you'd probably have to travel to Mexico to try it!
The best tacos I’ve had outside of CDMX!
Good homey authentic Mexican Restaurant. Almost thought I was in Mexico. They have a lot on their menu, but I just had their Pastor (pork) and Asada (beef) tacos. They were quite good and paid about $6. Seating indoor or outdoor is available and decent amount of parking.
The food was not bad, it was pretty much average. Surprisingly, I was not given any salsa and I thought the food was expensive for what you get. For reference, a quesadilla, 3 tacos and agua fresca were $25 and I was still hungry afterwards, unfortunately. Everyone in my party had a similar opinion and some went to get more food afterwards elsewhere. I cannot recommend this place
Grabbed a 6 pack of Barria..half spicy, half regular. Served with limes, beef consomme, and salsa verde. Gringa here, trying for the first time....totally impressed. Delicious, juicy, crispy outside fresh corn tortilla, fried with cheese, and perfectly seasoned inside. Chili oil for the side. Not too spicy, just a perfect kick. Flavor was amazing....wish I was here for more than the day so I could order again. Atmosphere ok, lots of workmen, outside tables are cute, but you are in a parking lot. Food makes up for the atmosphere, go, you won't be disappointed! Paper plates....this is a casual place. Small parking lot...maybe 20 spaces.
No dearth of good taquerias in redwood city but this one stands out. Fresh hand made tortillas, excellent meats (carnitas, barbacoa - speciality) Highly recommend.
Carne Asada plate is freaking delicious! The steak is grilled to perfection with a lovely charred flavor.
