Food fantastic specially black beans, enchalada camaron except they become smaller, the price was high. Always out of natural drinks such as watermelon juices home made, I love the carnitas taco salad.
Who would have known I would have the best shrimp tacos I’ve had in months in front of an EBMUD depot? This taco truck rocks!
I was so surprised the see a taco tuck on west grand. I normally don’t drive out this way for lunch. The food here is very good. They have excellent service and the quality matches that of a restaurant. I tried the shrimp taco, potato taco and sops. All of it was very tasty.
You can also call ahead and they will make your order so you don’t need stand inline if they have a line.
I’ll definitely be returning.

Edit Feb 2024-- the red truck is not LA Perla. That's a thief who stole his mother's truck and her spot and renamed it La Placita. That's why it was gone so long. Seriously. Plus his food sucks. The white one on the other corner is the real LA Perla. Stay away from red truck.

La Perla is back! It is now a WHITE TRUCK next to the Red one
Apparently there was some family drama and the son of the owner stole her business from her and told customers she passed away from COVID - this is not true!
he is the one running the red truck now under a different name DO NOT SUPPORT THAT TRUCK! The food is not the same even though he kept the same menu
I went to the red truck when he showed up again a month ago thinking it was the same owner/food and they got my order wrong and the food wasn’t good!
This poor woman went without work for 7 months over this conflict and had to get a new truck to continue business. She has been serving the community for over 20 years! As I said in the initial review this is the best burrito in Oakland hands down!
She deserves our support ya’ll make sure you go to the white truck that says La Perla on it that’s the real one and the same delicious food, don’t go to the red one!
A mainstay of Oakland's Taco Truck movement, La Perla, (With their new truck and new menu) is absolutely KILLING it in the highly competitive Mexican Regional cuisine business.
With the best tacos around here, (West Oakland) these much beloved folks who everyone knows, not only do tacos, but have a wide selection of meats, AND serve Barbacoa, a rare treat when made correctly (Which they do) a slow cooked combination beef, with deep savory flavors that go beyond Birria or Carne Asada.
the waiting time is minimal, and the location on Grand right off Union, makes it the best spot for a quick pit stop for some of the best Mexican in Northern California.

Stick with the white truck la perla. The new big red truck was stolen from la perla and the yellow tati smells like a gas can
Friendly staff and the food Is good! They are so good that sometimes they are busy so be prepared its worth the wait.
