I’ve never had food and felt angry after, but I guess there’s a first time for everything. While the actual restaurant is beautiful and the ladies who served me were lovely, the food was absolute garbage. The “asada” is not asada and the menu online is not up to date. The meat they’re serving is “bistec” and it was dried up salty chopped up mystery meat. I’m not sure what type of meat it is but it’s clear the restaurant is cutting corners to save money. The sauces came in plastic bags and there’s no way to eat it without it getting everywhere. The horchata also comes in a bag with no ice so if that’s your thing, you might like it. The limes were cut in 10’s as in, not halved or quartered but one lime cut in 10 pieces allowing you to add 5 drops to your tacos. The onion in the tacos was sloppily cut and cut largely unlike the lime and it’s not pleasant biting into them like that when they’re raw. The radishes they added to the taco dinner I had were also cut way too big to be considered garnish so I’m not sure why they were added to the dinner because it certainly wasn’t for the aesthetics. What drew me to this restaurant in the first place was the frijoles de olla and the tortillas a mano and while the beans were good, beware that there is a surcharge for the handmade tortillas. I can’t express enough how much this place should be avoided and for what it’s worth, I’m Mexican myself and I know what good Mexican food tastes like, but this isn’t it. It pains me to have to give this restaurant a negative review as I had high hopes but this is the worst representation of Mexican food and they give tacos a bad name on top of being ridiculously overpriced. For just 2 taco dinners with handmade tortillas I paid over $35 and it’s the worst $35 I’ve ever spent. If the restaurant answered the phone I’d give them a piece of my mind, but for now I’ll just warn other potential customers. I’ll be adding pictures of my meal so that you can judge for yourself.
They had me at tortillas hechas a mano. The bistec and carnitas tacos were very good! Hearty tacos. Love that they come with guacamole (not pictured) Good variety of salsas for the table.
I have being in this place every weekend for like 3 weeks. The food is good also they have many alcohol drinks and beer is cold like I like my beer. I can’t wait for the summer to have the experience of seating and eating at there outside tables.
Very nice place, the drinks are amazing. I ordered the Cazuelita omg literally like the ones in Mexico. The shrimp taco was my favorite. It was my first time, and I'm sure I'll be back.
Nice little place. Slightly over priced. Good tacos. Service was decent, they were nice but orders were mixed up somehow. I'll come back to try other things. The food does take a while to come out. So if you are in a rush, beware. Oh salsas are very good as well
This restaurant will become an neighborhood staple. Depending when you go there might be a wait. It's an authentic Mexican Restaurant (Tijuana region) with a young and refreshing atmosphere. I actually want to done in. On the plus side they offer alcoholic drinks. The tacos are worth the trip alone! Get the Taco Dinner, it will fill you up. Unless you order the Vegetarian tacos, I skip the dinner (the tacos are beans and rice). The Vampiro Tacos are very tasty and satisfying, you only need one. I would only eat the Mezcale cheesecake if you enjoy the taste of Mezcale. The Aguas are so cute and instead of cup you get them in a plastic baggie (street style). The food is worth the trip.
I heard food was awesome and recommended for my office party! I was disappointed! I ordered steak tacos which were very dry, possibly overcooked or reheated from previously cooking earlier in day, adding cheese to tacos added more money! The menu is in Spanish I speak English and the cashier was polite but not overly friendly! The other staff didn’t bother to speak, as she looked me in the face! I told the young lady my coworkers wanted to cater a party and I was sent to check out food, no menus available and they were nice enough to direct me to website with questions! Still looking for ambience, quality of food with great customer service, don’t suggest this place! Authentic Mexican food was very nice to see the difference in preparation! 5 stars for a pretty taco if the meat had not been so dry it could have made up for the cheese I payed extra for but not the lack of friendliness in that space
