I came to this spot cause of the reviews. The lady had an attitude. The food is alright if you want white wash tacos. The lady handles the money but then doesn’t wear any gloves or hair net to handle the food. The spot is next to a liquor store which I like. The tables you sit are very filthy. Looks they they don’t clean it. Over all I’m glad I didn’t get food poisoning.
I went here in search of good tacos, and I definitely found my new spot, very authentic, fresh and the red and green salsa is delicious and spicy ????! I ordered Asada and Pastor, can’t wait to try their buche! Definitely going back! Thank you for your hard work and dedication!
The food was mid. The California burritos weren't as fat as the dude taking the order. They take forever. But I'd eat there again ????
I went to grab food before work and although they were busy I waited no longer than 20 min for my food. Their sauces are the best. The red had a kick and the green is more flavorful, a perfect pair. I've had their quesadillas and asada burritos
Pretty darn good flavorful carne asada fries. Best I’ve had in a long time. A little bit of guacamole on the side away from 5 stars.
LOCATION CHANGE?
So specifically Tacos El Gordo has some amazing food and my family and I ate from there for years because it was tasty, service was great, food was affordable, business was consistent about their hours, and to top it all off they were close (Chestnut and Gettysburg).
But for about a year now it's been a different taco stand that posts up there sometimes, did Tacos El Gordo change locations? The new shop goes by Cheli's Tacos, we don't really go because it's not the service we want. Unless they completely rebranded with an entirely new staff and name, but we know for a fact we don't recognize anyone at the new truck.
I came to this location and it has a different name now? Idk. But the person there was rude. I watched her with multiple people. It must of not been her day. Asada fries were missing stuff on them. And they gave no sauce or silverware even after I asked. She said yes there is and there wasn't.
