I think this place might have come under new management. I have only known it as it is now since about November 2023.
This place is really, really excellent. I lived in Texas all my life. The tacos here are better than any I had in Texas. The birria comes with the juice they cook it in, and it is so, so good. I decided to get their nachos one time and was surprised to find that the chips were freshly fried and in-house made. This place is a cut above the rest, and I think their prices are acceptable. I regularly wrangle my coworkers into coming here and gladly foot the bill because I want as many people as possible to try this place. It's great!
I have lived in St. Paul for four months now. I've been trying different Taco places while trying to find a go-to. I believe I found my new go-to at Tacos El Bravo! Last night, we ordered two Taco dinners, one with birria and one with carnitas. They were amazing! The tacos had a great, smokey flavor, and were served hot. The prices are super reasonable, and the portions were perfect. The server was super friendly. I highly recommend Tacos El Bravo for anyone looking for great Tacos at a reasonable price.
Best spot close to the MN Senate. Has Rathskeller beat by a long shot. Local gem in an unassuming neighborhood. Server was very kind and gave me a free drink, burrito was excellent!
Not sure if they’re still in business, every time I’ve called the past 2 weeks it goes straight to voicemail and they haven’t been open. Kinda sucks, their tacos were really great (especially the birria and carnitas) the service was always amazing, and I liked being able to support a local business. Guess I gotta find a new taco place ????
Tried it today for some taco takeout. Birria and carnitas tacos. Sooooo good! Wow. Definately going to try some of the other options next time.
FYI - all of the bad reviews are from years ago when it was a different restaurant. Ignore anything before 2023. It is good. Salsa is good. Eat here.
Accidental find. Seemed that the neighborhood was a litte sketchy but the food was fantastic. The beef in the meal was delicious. Did not leave hungry!
This place is delicious. The flavor and quality of the meat is a cut above many other Mexican restaurants in the area. The asada is the best I've ever had in a taco. It's actually grilled fresh with excellent flavor from a good cut of beef and a delicious note of char from the grill. Will definitely return.
Today was my lucky day. I was walking to lunch, and the White Castle was closed to pedestrians. Tacos El Bravo was a block away. I got the burrito with shredded beef. It was made from scratch with care (not fast food) and loaded... including ample guac and good tortilla chips on the side. There is plenty of indoor seating, and the service is wonderful and clearly family run with pride. Great find!
