Best WLM Reviews
The place looks iconic and is located right under the Empire State Building. Staff is friendly and service is quick.
I had Guacamole con Totopos and it was simple yet delicious ( no onion no tomatos)
Then decided to order also their Tacos with Beef Birra which was really good yet quite oily. The meat was soft and will melt in your mouth. All this was acompained by a Spicy Margarita of a decent quality (14$)
I recommend this place if you are in middtown looking for a good and quick Mexican food experience
We did the Empire State Building Tacombi set menu which is a great deal if you’re planning to visit the Empire State Building! Regardless, this is a great spot to visit - such quality food at reasonable pricing. The corn esquites was PHENOMENAL. I am vegetarian and do not like beans or sweet potatoes, yet their veggie taco (Black Bean y Sweet Potato) was delicious! Our drinks were great and overall we kept being delighted at the freshness and flavor of every item here. Staff is kind and ambiance was nice (candles & dimmed lighting) when we came in the evening. Would return!
Someone recommended this place after I recommended a more expensive place to get good tacos. ???????? He told me it was good and affordable. I mean I still love my other place but this is more a casual spot. Tacos were good, definitely will keep going there for a quick fix. Lol
This place is really neat and the interior is designed decently. It is however not the best place to come for a really good taco. We tried a few and decided the saving grace here was the chips with guac, and the beans everything else is meh at best.
We came in (party of 5) on a Friday night at 10 and it was pretty busy but we still got a table with no wait. Prices are very fair. The food came out fast. The staff was very nice.
Service was excellent& prompt ! The overall vibe and energy uplifts your mood. Food was limited for vegetarians but we enjoyed every dish ordered. Candle light perpetuates the food. Reservation is preferred. Music is soothing.
My daughter wanted to go to a Mexican restaurant for her birthday so we ended up here on a Sunday afternoon. There was plenty of seating for the seven of us. We liked that we each got our own menu where we had to check off our order. The staff brings the food to the table and you have to remember who ordered what. With seven of us we got a little confused so I would suggest if you’re with a large group take a pic of each order so they don’t get mixed up. The staff was very friendly and kind, especially the woman who brought our drinks and was at the hostess stand when we left.
We ordered an assortment of food, including rice and beans, carne asada tacos, carne asada quesadillas, beef birria tacos, shrimp tacos and so on. There were an assortment of salsas to choose from. Salsa verde is always my favorite. The agua frescas were delicious. Everything tasted so fresh. My kids loved the food so much they talked about it the following day. We will go back soon.
This is one of those "chains" done right. Good food, excellent service, and a great story. Location is iconic, meaning many people, local and tourist alike, come here for lunch. This is especially true on taco Tuesday, when they have a special deal on all tacos! And now you know.
Tacombi offers a small but excellent menu of tacos, entradas, quesadillas, and drinks. They have esquites, which are great, and even very authentic tostadas. The main taco is obviously the fried fish one, and it is the best in the city, probably. It's always a nice, generous chunk of fish, fried crispy, topped with delicious crema and pico on a sturdy tortilla. They have amazing Agua fresca to go with tacos, like Jamaica and horchata.
Given the location in the empire state itself, the tacos are definitely more expensive than even summer salt. However, the quality is well worth it.
Service is great. They are friendly staff willing to explain things to you and will even split the check if you ask. They also bring extra drinks and straws very promptly, and are quick to pick up empty plates! Overall, an amazing spot with yummy tacos.
