Store is always very clean,staff extremely friendly and the food is always delicious with a very interesting menu.
Good food portion size was small, the burrito i had was good the 3 street tacos were so small for the price I WILL NOT GO BACK.
I'm giving this place four stars... I would of loved to of them 5. But I visit this place ALOT..
Except for breakfast, the Boss bowl with steak is my favorite, thier tator rounds, I also get #2, #7..these are my main.
When this place first opened. I got the boss bowl, with everything but the two add ons. it made like it was supposed to be made. It had to of been...the bowl was overflowing.. the Thing WAS AMAZING..
Mind you that the the first time..
The second time we'll it was as much as the first and I got that..spare some stuff save some money...still omg hands down delicious right...
I was truly impressed still and this is the second..no third time eating there.
The idk fourth or fifth time probably both..the bowl looked a little skimpy. Still heavy on the rice. Hardly any meat or beans or lettuce tomatoes. I get mine with cheese and even the cheese was skimpy.
This is well to me expensive..but it's worth it ok but if the container ingredients are going to get smaller its not worth it.
I'll still buy it I had to share my honest opinion.
Why
Enjoyed a hot breakfast burrito meal. Service was friendly and helpful navigating the breakfast menu. Well done, TJs.
Been going to Taco John's for over 20 years. Been to them in Illinois and Iowa. This one by far is the absolute worst. Went there shortly after it originally opened, was so excited to have a TJ near by. First order....was wrong. No biggie, it happens, especially at a new store. Following few times, the food was extremely overseasoned. Like twice the amount of seasoning was used. This last and final time I went I ordered the 2 beef soft taco meal. Took a little while to get my food, got back to work so I can eat. Only to find out I got some boss burrito thing. Didn't have the time to drive back and exchange it. $13 wasted, only thing I could eat was the oles. Called the store..no answer. Left a message, they never called me back. Called corporate, left a message..no call back. I will never eat at another TJ as long as I live. If you're passing through and hoping for some Taco John's. Either keep going and get it in Peoria or Bloomington or go somewhere else. I'd chose McDonald's over Taco John's anymore.
Another refusal to take an order, which looking at the reviews makes sense.
Menu had breakfast items, when I ordered I was told breakfast was over. Guy on drive-thru refused to switch the sign. Idk how I'm supposed to guess what they offer and when. He had an attitude about it. Hopefully this place closes down soon so we can actually get a place that cares, and the employees can go work at McDonald's where their attitudes will fit more proper.
If you go here be ready to be treated like a burden and not like a paying guest.
If the owner is wondering who I had this experience with. Check your schedule for the morning of 10/31/23
So happy we got a Taco John's. Friendly staff and super burrito is what I expected...GREAT!!!!
No pun intended but get gas here...its Shell and cheaper.
Love to see a Taco John's in some of these places because Taco Bell gets a little old but sometimes we even feel lucky just to have Taco Bell as a truck driver that is
