This was honestly a fantastic dinner and experience. The food was delicious and I’m definitely going again ! We ordered the fried calamari, the ceviche, the chorizo, the lobster roll, and the fish sandwich ! Everything was perfect ! The wine as well complemented the food perfectly and the service was TOP !
It is a nice setting. Unfortunately, the food we had was average: oysters (only 1 of the three varieties available) and a fish soup. The oysters were relatively fresh. I liked their take on the fish soup with fresh herbs and algae but was surprised to only find a few pieces of fish and lots of carrots.
Maybe the other dishes on the menu are more exciting?
The service was ok.
Lovely restaurant with fresh seafood - reservation is nice to have but we just walked in and got a place at the counter.
The staff is super friendly, giving feedback on the amount of dishes that you want to order; for 2 persons we took 3 appetizers and 2 main courses to share.
Our dishes:
Entrance/ appetizers:
1) Calamari fruti (9.5/10) one of the best I had so far, clearly fresh ingredients fried in clean oil. Nice and light appetizer.
2) tartare (8.5/10) super light and fresh, would recommend to also order some bread with it
3) calamari de chorizo (8/10) really good and a surprisingly new way of combing tastes which was cool; heads up a little bit spicy
Main dishes:
4) brioche de merlu: (8.5/10) nice warm bun, good quality of fish.
5) lobster rolls (9.2/10): cold lobster on a nice bun, lots of flavour and good structure/ crunch - highly recommended to taste/ share with 2.
Would definitely recommend the restaurant, first visit but not my last.
A great place with a lively but relax atmosphere. It’s hard to choose from all the nice little dishes on the menu, but start with some oysters and go from there. Fresh and tasty with a friendly staff that is helpful and smiley! Not cheap but the ingredients are fresh and original in flavour. A place to treat yourself!
Brilliant little gem of a restaurant in the Châtelain area of Ixelles. The menu is seafood forward with a limited selection to ensure quality and freshness. The team is young and cheerful. The plates are small so do not hesitate to try multiple items. While not busy earlier in the evenings it is best to book a table.
Only limitations is the wine list wich is not in par with the amazing food. The advantage is that the wine prices as a result are very reasonable but a more varied eclectic selection would be welcome. Cocktails are very good and generous both in flavor and size.
Overall highly recommend.
Quite mixed up impressions. On the one hand, the quality of their seafood is really good. Everything’s fresh. However, in my view overpriced: a very small (maximum 100 grams) mackerel tartar at 19 euro. 6 fine de claires oysters - 20 euro. Well, in principle that might be ok. But definitely not with their poor and bad selection of wines… Cava with 3,3 points at vivino, seriously? A very basic Muscadet… no natural wines..
Another disappointing thing about this place was their really unfriendly stuff.
To sum up: Malmo might be much better, a lot of things need to be improved.
Nice concept, good service, bit pricy.
But trying to create a Scandinavian atmosphere by not having a working heating system is a bad idea.
In fact, a freezing cold restaurant (literally) is actually unacceptable.
food was nice but service was very Kafkaesque as in Ken Loach’s “I, Daniel Blake”
