Quick Facts About Plough at Great Clacton

The Plough at Great Clacton place, according to the comments, seems to have several strengths that make it a desirable pub. One of its main strengths is its child-friendly atmosphere. This is highlighted by the comment that describes it as a "very child friendly pub." This is likely to attract families with young children who are looking for a welcoming environment to enjoy a meal or drink. Additionally, the comment mentions that the staff, particularly Mo and Archie, make customers feel welcome. This is a significant strength as friendly and attentive staff are often a key factor in creating a positive experience for customers.
Another strength of the Plough is the quality and price of its meals. Multiple comments mention that the meals are beautiful and delicious. The Sunday Roast is specifically praised for its succulent roast beef and tender roast turkey, complete with all the trimmings. The mention of "plenty of roast pots, nice and crispy and fluffy inside" suggests attention to detail in preparing the food. The affordability of the meals is also highlighted as a great price is mentioned. This combination of quality and value is likely to attract customers who are looking for a satisfying meal at a reasonable price.
Furthermore, the Plough offers fair pricing for drinks. While specific prices are not mentioned, the comment suggests that customers find the prices reasonable. Fair pricing is often a key factor in determining whether customers will choose a particular establishment for their drinks. Additionally, the pub is praised for having a great outdoor garden for the summer months. This is a significant strength as it provides customers with the option to enjoy their meals and drinks in a pleasant outdoor environment, particularly during the warmer months.
Despite these strengths, the Plough also has some weaknesses that may impact its reputation. One comment expresses dissatisfaction with the service they received when trying to come in for a drink with their partner and young baby. They mention that they were aggressively told they couldn't sit where they were trying to and were ignored when they asked where they should sit. This negative interaction with staff might deter potential customers, especially those who value good customer service and a friendly atmosphere.
Another weakness mentioned is the inconsistency between the website's claim that dogs are allowed and the reality that they are not. This type of inconsistency can lead to frustration and disappointment for customers who might have specifically chosen the pub because of its dog-friendly policy. Additionally, one comment mentions that the food was not available when they visited, which suggests a lack of reliability in terms of food offerings.
In conclusion, the Plough at Great Clacton place has several strengths that make it an attractive pub. These include its child-friendly atmosphere, the fantastic staff, beautiful and reasonably priced meals, fair pricing for drinks, and a great outdoor garden. However, it also has some weaknesses that may affect its reputation, such as inconsistent service, the lack of availability of food, and discrepancies between the website's claims and the actual policies. Overall, the strengths of the Plough make it an appealing option for those seeking a positive dining experience, but its weaknesses should be addressed to ensure consistent customer satisfaction.

A very child friendly pub. Staff are fantastic Mo and Archie make you feel welcome. Meals are beautiful and a great price. Fair price for drinks and got a great outdoor garden for the summer months.
Lovely Sunday Roast today. I had the succulant Roast Beef and my wife went for the equally tender Roast Turkey. Bothcane with all the trimmings , Yorkshire Pud and Stuffing and fresh veg with of course plenty of roast pots, nice n crispy and luffy inside and lashings of proper home made meaty gravy. Excellent meal and good friendly service. Thanks and be back soon.
Wouldn’t even give 1 star. Tried to come in for a drink with my partner and young baby today. Lady at the bar aggressively told us we couldn’t sit where we were trying to, bearing in mind we didn’t even get a hello as we walked in. Then completely ignored us when we asked where the correct place for us to sit was. We also had our pram with our baby in. We decided to leave as she made us look like right idiots infront of everyone in the pub.
Not a pleasant experience. Would recommend ‘The Ship’ over the road if your looking for a pleasant friendly drink.
