Bad service, didn’t taste good!
starter/appetizer was okay but the main courses was absolutely terrible!!! A soup for around 35€ and tasted like this ???? it was way too fishy, the smell also. And the bread was burned. Also the fish didn’t taste good anyway, was so small and hadn’t any taste.
At the end the server even told me to give a review/feedback. Yes I do but not a positive one. Never visit this restaurant again. Would not recommend this restaurant. There are so many other restaurants you could visit but not this one!!!
If you want to have good food in Dinant, this is the place!
We had the steak and seafood soup. It was great! Desert was delicious as well!

We had a good experience dining here. The medium rare steak was cooked perfectly. Service was good and staff was friendly
Pretty place with a great view… but the food is *truly* terrible and tremendously overpriced at the same time. Somehow they managed to undercook fries (!?) and overcook a steak to the point where it had more in common with a stack of coasters than actual food. The waiter was ok but only showed up every 20 minutes or so.
Very much not recommended.
We visited this restaurant with high hopes given the ratings and the price. Although the staff who served us initially seemed friendly and accommodating, his constant persuasion to order from the expensive special menu left us feeling slightly accosted. To make matters worse, when we expressed an issue with our hamburger, which was extremely hard to chew on, the waiter brought us a knife to cut through the meat and suggested that we should have ordered quality meat from the special menu instead. We asked the waiter to return the dish to the chef. However, the chef's attitude towards us was even worse, she asked him to relay that because we ate “more than half” of the burger (we in fact only ate less than a quarter), there was nothing they can do. We’re not the type to preach “the customer is always right” but we would have appreciated them offering us a new dish or a refund – but NOTHING. The chef stood by the counter almost scowling at us for sending the food back and ensuring that we didn't dine and bail. The food overall tasted pre-cooked and not fresh, and it's disappointing to see that overcooked meat/steak is a recurring issue in this restaurant, as evidenced by other online reviews.
We were so appalled by our experience that it completely ruined our trip to Dinant. Surprised to see such a high rating for this restaurant on Google, but perhaps they were cutting corners during a slow season?
Our experience at La Sancerre was lovely. The location is so nice overlooking the river, and the food was delicious. I had the tagliatelle with shrimp and my friend had the 4 cheese penne. We each tried each other’s pasta and loved both. If you get drinks they only take cash, but if you also have food you can pay with card.
Initially a little mix up about our reservation but once seated everything was nice and cozy. We were with a large group and the ambiance was nice. Despite being seated in the serre while cold outside it was very cozy. Food was nice aswell. Service was great. I thought I was dealing with a spoiled dessert but I was wrong and the staff kindly provided me with a new one. My apologies to the staff for the fuss about it.
