If you're planning a visit to Bastogne and looking for a dining experience that combines history with culinary delight, Le Maxim's Restaurant is a stop you shouldn't miss. Last week, during a battlefield tour, I had the pleasure of dining at this charming establishment. Opting for a lighter lunch, I passed on the Steak, which seemed a bit much for midday, and instead savoured their Tuna Salad baguette accompanied by a generous serving of fries. It was a decision well made; the meal was not only delicious but also offered great value for money.
Situated conveniently in the heart of the city, Le Maxim's boasts a location that's as appealing as its menu. The restaurant itself radiates cleanliness and comfort, making it a welcoming space for both the weary traveller and the eager foodie. What made the experience truly memorable was the warmth and friendliness of the staff. Their attentive service added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
The fusion of a historical setting with top-notch cuisine makes Le Maxim's a gem in Bastogne. It's a place where the echoes of the past meet the flavours of the present. I left with a content heart and a satisfied palate, already looking forward to my next visit. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply in search of a good meal, Le Maxim's will not disappoint. The hist also spoke very good English.
The food wasn't too good. Paid 22 euros for just a hamburger and 5 lettuce leaves. Staff doesn't speak english nor make any effort to communicate. The staff shouts loudly through the place and they can't even put a glass of coke on the table without spilling. Toilets were also very small and hard to find. Not recommended
Helpful staff, delicious steak and brochette. Italian salad was filling and so yummy! Perfect wine to complement the meal. Would recommend.
Well made dishes but not really satisfied. Small portions. There was a big delay in serving, although not a pick hour. One bowl of side potatoes for three persons, not sufficient. Better to opt for the sandwiches rather than the plats. Clean toilettes.
Wow
Best steak I've had in ages, lovely restaurant
Always friendly, very good meat dishes. My favorite restaurant in the Ardennes. Love it!!!!!
I would strongly recommend avoiding this place! The vegetarian spaghetti made my daughter feel sick (and not just because there was a fly in it!), the burgers were bone-dry (which is not surprising, given that they had been deep-fried), the service was mediocre at best. Even the softdrinks tasted old!
Corona respect : the waiters not wearing masks inside and coughing while talking with customers, totally unsafe place regarding to the corona safety.
Low quality of food and rather expensive to what you receive.
