what a lovely place! The location down by the river is so peaceful & the owners (Wilco & Manon) are so welcoming. We had a room in the 'annexe' at the back. It does look a little like a motel room but it was well equipped (including tea & coffee making facilities), very comfortable & with a lovely view of the garden. As the weather was very hot, we ate on the terrace overlooking the river - delightful! Our pre-dinner glass of wine was accompanied by some slices of homemade cheese which were excellent. We had opted for the half board so we didn't see the main menu & we weren't given a choice for our meal. That didn't bother us as we're not fussy & the food was very good anyway. (Veal tonnato, Braised Bacon hock & strawberries with cream). Breakfast was really good, too - served by Wilco who offered us fried eggs as well as the usual meats/cheese etc....& homemade jam! We were just passing through but would imagine that there is plenty to do around the place if you wanted to stay for a few days
We visited this restaurants yesterday, Sunday afternoon. |The food was ok, nothing special, around 3/5.|But we were not really able to enjoy it because:|1. Waiters do not wear masks nor gloves|2. Very dirty sticky tables|3. One million flies and personnel does not care|4. Poor service, you have to wait very long time to get served|5. Staff does not speak any language but French even if this is very touristic place. And they don’t look at you at all or like you stole their favourite thing|6. There is no soap, no paper towels in the restroom|Will i go there again? I don’t think so. |I just hope people are safe after visiting this place.|I rate it as 2/5 because of still eatable food.
We had never been to this Hotel before ( I do not know why ) but as soon as we walked through the door we were made to feel as if they had known us for ever.|| We arrived early so we had a drink at the bar and the room was made ready in no time at all. The local TRAPPIST BRUE is so good and we drank lots during our 6 night stay at this fab hotel. The room location was spot on and this made it so peaceful and quite. The food was to die for and the attention from our hosts and staff was just perfect.||Wilco and Manon are just the perfect hosts and always ready for a laugh and a bit of banter(English Term) They seem to be there morning noon and night just to make sure that everything is perfect for their guests.||One last note to anyone who rides a motorcycle. This is a perfect spot to be for all the Twisty Traffic free roads that are in the Belgium Ardennes.|| Thankyou both once again for a GREAT WEEK.|||| AS ARNY SAYS WE WILL BEBACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Located beside the beautiful river Ourthe in the picturesque village of Sy, this was a real find.||For ease of access and as few stairs as possible, we were given one of the "cottages" situated in the rear garden - a good move as it was very quiet, the neatly manicured garden contained a variety of chairs to relax in while the room itself was modern and well appointed.||As for the food, 'wow' is the best description that springs to mind. We were on half board so had dinner included as well as breakfast the following morning. The 'amuse bouche' before dinner included two different home made cheeses (very tasty) while the 3 course meal itself was excellent, the main course sadly proving to be rather larger than my appetite. ||The breakfast was again a pleasant surprise with the patron himself freshly cooking fried eggs for us not to mention a buffet bar containing an array of fruit, meats and cheese plus crusty rolls and - of course - home-made jam.||Highly recommended !
4 of us stayed for the Spa F1 Grand Prix weekend. Wilco & Manon were so helpful and friendly. They helped make our stay fun and relaxing. The location is stunning, the choice of food and wine is of a very high standard but not ridiculously expensive. We will return!
We booked our stay months ago and 5 weeks prior to our holidays they just cancelled our room without providing any reason. Even after asking we did not receive a reason. This is not okay!!!!!!! I am really not happy about this behaviour.
Very good hospitality! Delicious food and nice rooms.
Friendly place with nice outdoor facilities
