Quick Facts About Lamorna Wink

Lamorna Wink has several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, it is described as a "super pub" with friendly and attentive staff. This is an important aspect of any establishment, as good customer service can greatly enhance the dining experience. The positive feedback regarding the staff suggests that Lamorna Wink excels in this area.
Secondly, the comments highlight the great food and reasonable prices at Lamorna Wink. This is an important strength for any restaurant or pub, as quality food at affordable prices can attract and retain customers. The fact that the commenters highly recommend the food and mention enjoying Sunday roast dinners suggests that Lamorna Wink offers a satisfying dining experience.
Another strength mentioned in the comments is the historic and stunning beauty of the pub and its surrounding area. This adds to the overall ambiance and appeal of Lamorna Wink, making it an attractive destination for visitors. The outdoor seating options and ample parking also enhance the strengths of the establishment, as they cater to different customer preferences and needs.
Furthermore, the cleanliness, spaciousness, and character of Lamorna Wink are praised in the comments. These aspects contribute to a pleasant and comfortable environment for guests, which can enhance the overall dining experience.
In terms of weaknesses, one comment mentions that the opening times of Lamorna Wink were a little strange. This suggests that the establishment may have irregular or unconventional operating hours, which could make it difficult for potential customers to plan their visit. However, the commenter acknowledges that phoning ahead could provide clarification on opening times, mitigating this weakness to some extent.
Another weakness highlighted in the comments is the lack of vegan or vegetarian options on the menu, as well as the absence of smaller portion sizes. This may limit the appeal of Lamorna Wink to individuals with dietary restrictions or those who prefer smaller meals. Additionally, the high prices of the Sunday roasts were seen as surprising and excessive by one commenter. This suggests that Lamorna Wink may need to reassess its pricing strategy to ensure that it aligns with customer expectations.
Lastly, one comment mentions that the service at the bar was stretched thin, with one woman serving drinks, taking orders, serving food, and clearing tables. While this may be indicative of a busy day or understaffing, it could impact the overall service quality and efficiency.
In conclusion, Lamorna Wink has several strengths, including friendly and attentive staff, great food at reasonable prices, stunning surroundings, and a clean and characterful environment. However, there are some weaknesses to address, such as irregular opening times, limited vegan/vegetarian options, high prices for Sunday roasts, and potential service gaps during busy periods. Addressing these weaknesses could help Lamorna Wink further improve the dining experience and attract a wider range of customers.

Best KBFKR Reviews

Super Pub. Freundliche und aufmerksame Angestellte.
Tolles Essen und angemessene Preise.
Absolut empfehlenswert.
Wirklich tolles Lokal mit uriger Inneneinrichtung, aber auch Plätzen im Freien. Ein Ausflug hierher lohnt auf jeden Fall. Parkplätze gibt es vor Ort ausreichend.
Gute Pub
Lamorna Wink was our planned stop point after walking the Soul West Coast Path for the day. We had read some pretty scathing reviews and were worried if they would let us in with a dog, served food, or would even be open. Since the negative review or two, the place has changed ownership and I couldn't disagree with the negative reviews more.
The opening times were little strange to me as a city folk, but nothing phoning ahead couldn’t have enlightened me to before arriving. The place is clean, spacious, and full of character. (Great selection of gins too!)
There were only two staff working that day. One chef and one bar staff. Despite the short staff, they were friendly, communicative, and courteous. The dog was allowed, and I don’t think I saw a group enter without at least one dog! We unfortunately did not manage to get to eat. They knew they only had one chef that day due to just having trouble getting staff (The place is fairly remote and we went out of season). Meals were reservation only. They knew how many meals they could cook. So, if you want a meal here plan ahead and book. Ring a few days ahead at least and check tables and opening times. I highly recommend this pub. The pub itself and the surrounding area have a rich history and are stunningly beautiful whatever the season.
Ive Visited this place since i was a child with my parents for 40+ yrs since the late 70s and still visit often today.
Never disappointed with there Lovely sunday roast dinners.
Very tasty with generous portions with a lovely atmosphere as always and Thank you to the host's Lynsey and lee for there lovely meals and always looked after.
My wife and I booked for Sunday lunch as we had heard that the pub had reopened. The pub itself is very attractive, and the staff very pleasant.
There was no menu but the choice was beef, pork or lamb. Nothing vegan or vegetarian, nor offer of small portions. A huge plateful arrived, with eight accompanying vegetables (roast potatoes, mashed potato, broccoli, creamy cabbage, mange touts, beetroot, mashed swede, parsnip puree) + crackling, applesauce, mint sauce, yorkshire pudding and gravy. All looked great and was a pleasure to eat. However, although we never leave food on our plate or vegetables left in a dish (except v. occasionally an excess of chips), this was too much for us and we left some of the vegetables and even a little meat. We noticed other customers also left quite large quantities of food, which is so wasteful.
We didn't really have room for pudding but we were offered only sticky toffee pudding or two flavours of icecream.
We hadn't asked about prices beforehand but were surprised how expensive our roasts were (£15.95 for pork; £16.95 for lamb). The icecream was a perfectly reasonable £2.
We won't go back for Sunday roast as clearly things are not pitched quite right - a roast with a smaller quantity of vegetables perhaps @ £12.95 would be fine for us. And some people (elderly and children) would appreciate the chance to have a smaller plateful altogether. But we will try lunch or an evening meal.
It's a lovely spot but before you book do check what you are going to have and its price.
Great service, felt abit sorry for woman behind the bar as she was serving drinks, taking orders, serving food and clearing tables. Nice pub, only had a drink so can't comment on food but it did look nice !
Nice views a good walk you need to be fit as it is more like rock climbing in places. We had a 4 and 7 year old with us but it was to much for our younger child. I had to get gramps to pick them up at lamorna. The cafe at lamorna was nice a good 4-6 hours out.
