Had a great haircut here. The lady was just lovely, we had a good chat, and she listened to what I wanted and was my 3 months of wild hair growth didn't faze her at all.
Trimmed my beard too, and although this was the first time anyone else has done it for me, so little to compare it to, it was a lovely experience and I left looking very tidy.
Warmly recommended, I think I shall be making good use of my loyalty card :)
At H.I.M you will receive a relatively decent haircut; for the price the quality is reasonable.
My 1-star review stems from my treatment at the salon (please see attached photograph). The hairdresser did this to the back of my neck with a pair of clippers. To add to this, when I attempted to contact the salon using their 'contact' form on their website, I was not afforded a reply. I feel that this is unprofessional and quite frankly utterly unacceptable, and therefore I cannot recommend a visit.

Michelle is excellent, she has been cutting my son and my hair for many years. She is patient, skilled and super friendly. I recommend her 100%. She is skilled at cutting all types of hair.

I've never been more happy with my haircut. The first barber I went to was the DB in the city centre - "the best barber in Oxford," apparently. Told the guy I wanted a new hairstyle and he gave a super Asian hairstyle. I was really offended because to a certain extent, it was quite racist of him to just assume I wanted an Asian hairstyle. And it was horrible. I went there with my friend and he was tended to by another barber. He, too, was given an Asian haircut. We left and vowed to never go back. It was so bad I had to go for a haircut again just to fix it. Of course, that didn't do much to help. You can't uncut what's already been cut.
Anyway, HIM was the third barber I've been to within the span of 2 months and suffice to say, this will be the only barber I'd ever visit in the foreseeable future. The lady (didn't manage to get her name) was really nice. She gave me some styling tips, explained to me about hair stuff, blowdried and styled my hair etc. Her mobile rang and she didn't even pick it up as she was tending to me. And all this for £11.50 (student discount, 50p card charge). Super worth it. She's usually in on Tuesdays. Not sure about other days. They said they're not a slapdash barber. That statement cannot be anymore true. The lady that tended to me really did a good job. It was exactly the hairstyle that I wanted. Received compliments from some of my friends too so I was really happy.
I went there earlier today at around 12pm, Tuesday and there were 3 people before me. There was only a barber on duty and I had to wait for about an hour. If there's a queue when you're there, wait. Be patient. Would you rather wait and have a patient barber or would you rather a barber who gets things done as quick as they can so they can earn as much as they can in a short span of time? If time is not something that you have, book an appointment. Otherwise, they have free WiFi and loads of magazines.
So, I'd say give this barber / salon a try :) Its cheap and 100% worth it. Who knows? You might end up liking it as much as I do, if not more.
