Quick Facts About Grand Trunk Road

Grand Trunk Road is a mixed bag when it comes to its strengths and weaknesses. On one hand, the ambience and decor provide a conducive environment for fine dining. The restaurant does not get too noisy and does not play any awful music, allowing for a pleasant dining experience. Additionally, the staff at Grand Trunk Road were considerate and accommodating towards a member of the party who had a shellfish allergy, which shows their attentiveness towards customer needs and dietary restrictions.
The starters at Grand Trunk Road were highly praised, with the grilled chicken and fish dishes being perfectly cooked and flavorful. This demonstrates the restaurant's ability to deliver tasty appetizers. The aubergine dish was also enjoyed by one of the commenters, indicating that Grand Trunk Road has some standout vegetarian options.
Another strength of Grand Trunk Road lies in its desserts. The mango brulée and the avocado and rose ice cream were described as sensational by one of the commenters. This highlights the high quality and deliciousness of their dessert offerings, which can be a draw for customers.
When it comes to weaknesses, one reviewer mentioned that the truffle and mushroom naan had no taste of truffle or mushroom, which was disappointing. This indicates that there may be inconsistencies with the execution and flavors of certain dishes at Grand Trunk Road.
One major disappointment brought up by a commenter was the lamb biryani. It was described as not being a biryani at all, but more like a pilaf. Additionally, the lamb pieces in the biryani were described as containing inedible gristly bits, which is considered unforgivable considering the high prices charged for the dish. This suggests that there may be inconsistencies and quality issues with certain main dishes at Grand Trunk Road.
Some commenters also mentioned that while the service at Grand Trunk Road was excellent, the flavors of the food did not satisfy their palate. They describe the flavors as average and not something to rave about. This indicates that there may be room for improvement in terms of the overall taste and flavor profiles of the dishes at Grand Trunk Road.
In terms of pricing, Grand Trunk Road is considered on the pricey side. While this may be justified by the fine dining experience and the need for high-quality ingredients, it also means that customers have higher expectations when it comes to the taste and execution of the food. Therefore, serving substandard food may deter customers from returning.
Overall, Grand Trunk Road has its strengths in terms of ambience, accommodating staff, delicious starters, and sensational desserts. However, there are weaknesses when it comes to certain dishes not living up to expectations and inconsistencies in flavors. Additionally, the higher price point means that customers expect a higher level of quality. Addressing these weaknesses and maintaining their strengths will be crucial for Grand Trunk Road to ensure customer satisfaction and return business.

Best KBFKR Reviews

A real mixed bag ranging from sensational deserts to an awful pseudo biryani.
We went for a birthday celebration and this was a convenient location, saving us the trek into town.
Ambience and decor were conducive to fine dining. The tables were full but it was not noisy and no awful music.
One of our party has a serious shellfish allergy and they were very considerate about that.
The starters were very good. We got about 6 I think. Grilled chickens and fish. All the fish dishes were perfectly cooked.
We ordered truffle and mushroom naan which had no taste of truffle or mushroom. Very disappointing.
The major disappointment was the lamb biryani. This was not a biryani by any stretch, it was more like a pilaf. The lamb pieces contained inedible grissly bits which is unforgivable bearing in mind what they were charging for it.
The aubergine dish was right up my street.
The deserts were sensational. We ordered mango brulee and a weird sounding avocado and rose icecream, which is worth going back for again and again.
I also ordered a coffee which was surprisingly excellent.
This is a pricey place so they cannot serve substandard food if they want customers to return.
Service was absolutely amazing, couldn’t fault anyone at the shop. However the food on the other hand, the flavours didn’t satisfy my pallet. Flavours were alright, but nothing to scream about. Nice experience, but if you want pure flavour, better at a local spot.
Been twice, once many years ago and yesterday. Yesterday's meal was utterly scrumptious, packed with flavour. The set menu is excellent value although would forgo the dessert next time as it wasn't so good.
Chicken 2 way was excellent as was the lamb ghost. Ordered an extra peshawari naan as it doesn't come with many peices per person with the set menu. This too was high end naan. If I'm being critical the poppadom portion is very small.
Overall a great dining experience. Service is attentive and friendly.
Service was excellent, the starters were top class. However the main was not great at all. The lamb biryani had no taste and was boring a baby can eat that no spice. The chicken tava was not great at all. Overall I gave it 3 stars due to the very expensive bill and the main was bad.
This amazing michelin starred restaurant gave me an extraordinary service as well as exquisite meals.. huge variety of the menus + staffs are very knowledgeable on what to recommend with a courtesy. Thanks for the amazing experience and I hope to visit again soon.
We had several dishes ordered for our group. They catered to my sensitivity to spicy food by cooking special dishes that I can eat & enjoy. Great atmosphere, attentive staff and of course, wonderful food.
Highly recommended.
I had a family dinner. Food was really good. Service was good too. Good vegetarian options. Shab was looking after our table. He was very attentive. Overall, would recommend.
Grand Trunk Road is a fine dining experience, which means that the portion sizes are healthier and the food is freshly made. Because of this, the food is slightly more expensive and takes slightly longer than other local restaurants.
With that said, there truly isn't another restaurant quite like it nearby. The menu is slim, but each option offers different flavours so to suit everyone's needs. As a vegetarian, there were plenty of options to choose, and those options were delicious.
Perhaps the most unusual part of my meal was the Truffle & Mushroom Naan. I've never seen it anywhere else, but it's a clear winner in my books.
When it came to dessert, I went with Mango & Basil Sorbet. Initially put off by the idea of basil, I placed my trust that the kitchen knew what they were doing. For the most part, it was mostly just mango flavoured and the basil was barely detectable. Which is fine by me.
On this occasion I did not feel so adventurous as to try the Rose Petal & Avocado ice cream, but next time I hope to try it.
It's also worth mentioning that the service was as excellent as the food itself. The staff were professional, welcoming, and attentive to us.
It's a really special restaurant and is much more enjoyable than nearby competitors.
