Quick Facts About Dun Cow

Dun Cow Place is a country pub that offers a good selection of real ales and has a relaxing atmosphere. The pub has a log fire in the winter, which adds to the cozy ambiance. Dogs are allowed in the pub, making it a suitable place for pet owners. The bar staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. The pub sells crisps, although no food is served.
One of the strengths of Dun Cow Place is the quality of its real ale selection. The comment mentions that there is always a good pint of real ale available, and that there is a range of changing real ales. This is likely to appeal to beer enthusiasts who appreciate a diverse selection of ales. Additionally, the pub is praised for its friendly bar staff, further enhancing the overall experience for customers. The comment also mentions the relaxing atmosphere of the pub, suggesting that it provides a pleasant environment for visitors to unwind and enjoy their drinks.
The presence of a log fire in the winter is another strength of the pub. This feature contributes to the cozy and inviting atmosphere, attracting customers during colder months. The pub's dog-friendly policy is also mentioned as a strength, as it allows pet owners to enjoy a drink while their furry companions join them.
However, the pub seems to have some weaknesses as well. One comment describes an unpleasant experience with the landlord and landlady who were deemed unfriendly and more interested in drinking themselves. Another comment shares a similar sentiment, stating that the pub is the most unfriendly they have been in for years. These negative experiences with the management of the pub can significantly impact the overall customer experience and may deter potential visitors.
Additionally, a comment mentions that the pub used to be great years ago when it had different proprietors. This suggests that the change in ownership or management may have had a negative impact on the pub's quality or customer satisfaction.
Despite these weaknesses, the pub has received positive comments for its great atmosphere and friendly people. The presence of open fires and fair prices are also highlighted as positive aspects. The absence of food, apart from toasties, is seen by one comment as a positive as it allows the pub to focus on their beers and serve a good pint.
Overall, Dun Cow Place has strengths in its real ale selection, relaxing atmosphere, dog-friendly policy, and friendly bar staff. However, it also faces weaknesses such as unfriendly management and potential decline in quality under new ownership. These factors should be taken into consideration when evaluating the pub.

Always a good pint of real ale and a good selection to choose from. Relaxing atmosphere. Great bar staff.
A good country pub. Log fire in the winter. Good beers with a range of changing real ales. Dogs are allowed in. Bar staff are friendly and prices are good. Sells crisps. No food
Visited on a Saturday night. ( 3 couples). We were the only people in the pub apart from 3 others.Extremely unfriendly Landlord and Landlady. Asked us if we had taxis booked ( while still drinking our first drink). They seemed more intent on drinking themselves...
This is the most unfriendliest pub we have been in for years. Most definitely won't be going back and wouldn't recommend to anyone.
It used to be a great venue years ago, with different proprietors.
Thus is a very old bar with superb Samson beer.
It is a real blast from the past.
Great atmosphere.
Fantastic, pub. Great beer, friendly atmosphere ( staff and customers alike) . Open fires and fair prices. No food ( except for toasties) but I see this as a positive- they concentrate on the beers and always serve a good pint.
As another said. Nice local pub. At the back or front you can sit and enjoy a beer on a hot day. Would recommend if on a stroll and fancy a pint.
Bar staff are great, beer is good but Landlord & Landlady are kill joys & do NOT look after their customers.
Really nice proper pub. Good ale and friendly people.
