The comment about the barber not washing the customer's hair before the haircut raises a hygiene concern. Washing the hair before the haircut is considered a standard practice in the industry, and the lack of shampoo availability further emphasizes the unpreparedness of the barbershop. A long-standing customer praises the barbershop, stating that they have been serving their family for 30 years. This positive comment indicates that the barbershop has built a reputation and loyal customer base over time, which is a strength of the establishment. Longevity and customer loyalty demonstrate the ability to deliver satisfactory haircuts consistently.

In conclusion, Corniel Barber Shop has both strengths and weaknesses. Its weaknesses include unqualified barbers, lack of professionalism, poor hygiene practices, discrepancies in pricing, and cleanliness issues. However, the strengths include the presence of skilled and attentive barbers, consistent quality of haircuts, and a longstanding reputation for serving customers well. The barbershop should address the negative aspects to improve the overall customer experience and reputation.

Very bad and unqualified barbers. Do not go there.
The guy constantly kept talking with his friends and kept getting distracted by EVERYTHING. One time he was so much into conversation that he stopped cutting hair and started looking something up in Wikipedia. I'm shocked by the attitude as he was just casually going with the machine with no effort or attention. Also started trimming the hair without washing the head which is a big no for a barber - dude, after I wash it it's going to be a mess, you should wash it first. They also had no shampoo, at least that's what I was told. Imagine a barber shop with no shampoo. Not the worst experience I had in NYC, but certainly a bad one. Do not go there.
P.S. Also tried to charge me $30 for a cut, which normally costs $20. I ended up paying 25$ which I highly regret. A very bad barber shop with some lazy and unqualified barbers.
Wow super disappointed. I usually get very good haircuts here but today i got a horrible
Haircut. The dudes station has hair all over it. I said specifically im trying to grow my hair out and to only take off the split ends and trim the edges. Dude then takes off all my hair ive been working months to grow out. Its a shame because I recommend this place to everyone but they shouldnt be hiring people who cant even listen to directions. So so dissatisfied. Might even be the last time they get my business. Also the barber has dreads and wears a snapback. Avoid him at all costs.
It's a good place, I recommend it the people there are very attentive, my son's barber is the formula, he is an excellent hairdresser and knows how to make my son feel good so that his cut is perfect
Would recommend most people to avoid this place because of the barber that sits in the corner across the bathroom. He gives really bad haircuts and me and my friend both had bad ones from him. He’s always free so they dump off new clients on him I’m assuming. But what’s worse is that if there’s a problem the owner will not give you another stylist to fix it. They’ll just make you go back to the same one even though he gives really bad haircuts. It’s really awkward and a ridiculous policy because he will screw up your hair even more like he did for me. Shame because I had 2 other good cuts here. But I won’t be coming back for other ones.
Solid place to get a men's haircut. I've had a different barber each time, and each time they've been good. Last time I went, it was $25-$30 cash for a cut.
Been going to this barbershop since i was 8 years old, from skin fade, to braids, they always kept me looking sharp as a tack. Best barbers in NYC.
Took my son for a haircut, the place is very dirty and very unprofessional, needs lots of improvements not only in the skills but also in client relationships. Disrespectful, unsanitary conditions. Unsure if some barbers are even licensed. Will never go again.
Manuel is one of the best barbers i ever had. if you looking for a real dominican barber shop, this the place. they’ve been serving my family for 30 years. ????????
