Quick Facts About Chipmunk Fish & Chips

Chipmunk Fish & Chips, based on the comments provided, has both strengths and weaknesses.
One of the main strengths of Chipmunk Fish & Chips is the quality of their food. Multiple customers praised the food, describing it as great, lovely, and good value. The portions were also mentioned as being well-sized. This indicates that the establishment takes pride in providing tasty and satisfying meals to their customers.
Another strength mentioned by a commenter is that Chipmunk Fish & Chips is well-known in the St Helens area. This suggests that the chippy has built a positive reputation and has a loyal customer base who appreciate their food.
Additionally, some customers mentioned the down-to-earth and friendly staff as a positive aspect of the establishment. This indicates that the chippy provides good customer service and creates a welcoming atmosphere for their patrons.
However, there are also weaknesses that were highlighted in the comments. One of the major weaknesses is the issue of overcharging customers who pay with a card. One customer experienced being charged significantly more than their order's actual cost, signaling a potential issue with the payment system. This could be seen as a breach of trust, making customers wary of using their cards in the future. It is important for the establishment to rectify this issue promptly and ensure that all customers are charged accurately and fairly.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer is the lack of transparency in displaying the cost on the machine before payment. This puts the onus on the customer to double-check the charge, which can be inconvenient and lead to potential problems. Chipmunk Fish & Chips should consider implementing a system that clearly shows the cost before completing the transaction to avoid any confusion or dissatisfaction among customers.
The quality of the food was also a weakness for some customers. Complaints included fish that was soggy and chips that were undercooked or swimming in grease. Inconsistent food quality can be a significant issue as it directly affects the overall customer experience. Chipmunk Fish & Chips should focus on addressing these complaints by ensuring that their food is consistently cooked to a high standard. Maintaining food quality can help retain customers and attract new ones.
Another weakness mentioned by a commenter is the outdated appearance of the establishment. This suggests that the chippy could benefit from a refurbishment to improve its overall aesthetics. While the appearance may not directly impact the quality of the food, a refreshed and modern look can contribute to a more enjoyable dining experience for customers.
Finally, a customer mentioned that the chippy has become expensive. This can be a significant drawback as it may deter customers from frequenting the establishment regularly. Chipmunk Fish & Chips should consider reviewing their pricing to ensure that it aligns with the quality and value of their offerings. Finding a balance between affordability and maintaining their profit margins is crucial for attracting and retaining customers.
In conclusion, Chipmunk Fish & Chips has strengths in terms of the quality of their food, their reputation in the St Helens area, and the friendliness of their staff. However, weaknesses include issues with overcharging, lack of transparency in displaying costs, inconsistent food quality, outdated appearance, and high prices. Addressing these weaknesses will be essential for improving the overall experience for customers and ensuring the long-term success of the establishment.

Food is great but if you are paying by card make sure you check the charge on the machine as I got charged 13.30 for my order that only cost 3.30.
Problem is they don't show u the cost on the machine before you pay.
I will be getting in touch with them today about this overcharge
This chippy is the best in the North west everything you can purchase from here is A1 with good sized portions and the place is spotless.
I have been going to the chipmunk chippys for years went tonight Cody 16.75 got home the chips were swimming in grease he were undercooked couldn’t eat them very very poor quality.
Awful food!Soggy fish and undercooked chips, even the dogs wouldn't eat it.The staff aren't very friendly either.Supposed to be the best chippy in St.Helens,really?Lol.It's really difficult to find a decent fish and chip shop that is local these days.
Good chippy, well known in St Helens area. Staff are down to earth and friendly. Prices are what you'd expect, get good portions of whatever you order. Only thing that lets the place down is it looks pretty tired now and could really do with a refurb. Won't make the chips taste any better though I suppose.
Getting expensive now, so just going to be an occasional treat. Fish was lovely but I wish the chips could be better.
Best chippy around, travel from Liverpool just for a proper fishcake ????
Really good food, and great value. My first visit, but won't be my last. Highly recommended.
