This is the most polite staff of any place we frequent. They don't get mad at you if you eat too many Salsas Like Azteca does. The meals are served so fast, you don't go through baskets of chips and salsa waiting for your food. They keep your drinks filled constantly, unlike Azteca, so drink all the tea you want! Unlike Azteca, you see the same faces every time you go and they are always happy to see you. Unlike Azteca, you always get relish and tortillas while waiting on your food. Unlike Azteca, you get a complimentary Sopapilla with butter and honey. They have added to their menu and have specialty salsa also. Try these people and see for yourself!
3/27/2024 Stopped by today and had a Shrimp Cocktail. So far this is the best one I have had in OKC. The Staff is polite and extremely presentable. "Juan" wanted me to tell you he is the best server and to ask for him but they are all great!
Haven't been to this location for a long time probably 2 years. I heard from a coworker that the ownership changed to another brother so had to give it another try. I was so pleased to have back the recipes that their were before. Still give out complimentary chips, salsa, queso with your meal and don't forget the fresh sopapilla after your course. Had the beef fajitas and they were so good. Service was outstanding
OK, here it is I wasn't a fan of chelinos haven't been in in many yrs. Reason many yrs ago they were good but then they grew got bigger and quality changed. So today to my surprise the food was really good, huge portion servings. Service was amazing, place could use a face lift but I say chelinos is back on my radar.
I had a bad review here for awhile because of non food related things that I am happy to put behind me. This time the head guy (big guy) treated my daughter and I very kindly and was very attentive. Being nice does turn things around sometimes. The food was great as well.
I am not a person who eats Mexican food very often...so when I do want it I want the best...and oh my did this place deliver on food and service....Adrian was so super friendly and helpful...picked an amazing dish so I could try new things and I was so beyond happy. Cooked perfect, excellent flavor...huge portions....I send guests from my hotel all the time and have ordered to go but this was my first time dining in...I promise it will not be my last....you guys nailed it. Thank you so much
I prefer this Chelino’s over any of them, it’s small, but the food is always good, all the staff helps each other. Great place for lunch if you are in a hurry and also a great place for Dinner
My son wasn't able to take me out on Mother's Day 2024, so he took me the following week to Chelinos on Meridian, instead of my favorite eatery CCFactory. OMG!! THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE! I'm a picky eater, so is my son. It's small but the food is authentic, very tasty, well seasoned! It comes out piping hot! The prices are reasonable and the portions are big. Our server Juan was excellent! My son is not a tipper(not my fault)and I only had $4-cash and gave all i had. So I'll come back tomorrow to tip him better. I thought all Chelinos were the same...NOT! Ive been to others.Juan informed me the owner made sure this restaurant kept the original recipes. I'm so pleased they did. You won't be disappointed if you like flavorful food, good service, and a cozy atmosphere with good pricing. This is now my favorite Mexican food restaurant! ????
Honestly, the food hasn't been that great the last few times. The chicken was incredibly dry. The tortillas were hard, and the cheese sauce was super bland. Idk if they changed recipes, but if so, they need to switch back.
